Who is the woman ?

Thanks for sharing, Matt. In the interest of accuracy though, it should probably be noted that there's no actual proof that Jean Brayton was the same redhead that owned the Spiral Staircase. It's an interesting (and believable enough) theory... and we've all contemplated and discussed it over the years but (unless Ms Allegro Lansing has made some kinda major undisclosed discovery) there's no real evidence that it's true.

Isn't this the same person that confused Roger Smith and David Smith in her book?

A spiral staircase seems like a good idea, until you need to get a couch upstairs.

Gina,
If you look at the link below you can see some of Alegra Lansings work. I think she's either contributed to or commented on this forum. https://m.youtube.com/c/HAllegraLansing

I suspect that MansonBlog will need to do an in-depth study and debunk some bunk.

Greetings- I am currently working on a book that tangentially includes the Manson murders. I’m not sure where to post this but perhaps someone could explain to me why Polanski was not considered a prime suspect In possibly arranging the hit with the Manson family via a 3rd party (bikers, drug dealers etc).

The pair was known to run with a shady and dangerous crowd. Polanski has a lifelong interest in the occult and the dark arts and by most accounts, a questionable moral code.

Even though he was out of the country, the spouse of a murder victim is usually considered the prime suspect, according to police standard procedure. Any insights would be greatly appreciated 👍

He was a suspect initially, but passed a lie detector test, and was cleared.

Do you have a source for that?

Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi with Curt Gentry, 1974. Paperback edition with 1994 afterword. Pages 92-97.
Is this publishing? Blogger hates me today

I appreciate the responses but don’t people here question the veracity of Bulgiosi’s ‘Helter Skelter’ theory and the quality of his character?

Tom O’Neil (author of Chaos) certainly paints an unsavory picture of Bugliosi according his personal interactions with him and the multiple personal scandals outlined in his book.

Also, it is known that certain psychopathic individuals can beat lie detectors, which is one of the reasons they are not admissible in court.

I am not necessarily convinced Polanski was involved via arranging a hit, but by many accounts of people who knew Tate, their marriage was in shambles with a longtime pattern of emotional and even physical abuse. Surely the cops got wind of this in their interviews which should have heightened their suspicions.

A transcript of the lie detector test Polanski took after his wife's murder is here- https://www.charlesmansonfamily.com/post/roman-polanski-transcript-with-audio-polygraph-test-lapd

Thanks Deb - I will check that out. 👍

Quoting Tom O'Neil who trolled his betters at this site for years under the name Vera Dreiser loses you and your future venture all credibility. Like they say in SUCCESSION, you are not a serious person. Polanski had no reason to have any of the people killed there and he was out of the country in bed with two women, two more than you have even met. No motive and no opportunity. " I am not necessarily convinced" means of course you think it MAY be true. This is because you are stupid, Dr Retardicus is a better handle for you. So let it be written.

The Malibu Feed Bin and The Reel Inn have burned. Everything remaining at or near the Snake Pit is gone.

Thank you, Justin! That's very sad.

How is middle and upper Topanga faring? The news has been vague.

I found a map current, as of 8 AM 1/8/25, of the burn area. The evacuation area is also shown. https://www.mercurynews.com/2025/01/08/map-palisades-fire-evacuation-zone-is-expanded/

I read today that Dennis Wilson's infamous Pacific Palisades house, or what I THINK was the same house, was destroyed in one of the fires. I'm open to correction on this issue if somebody has more accurate information.

Here is an article from the California state parks about the loss of the Topanga Ranch Motel and the Will Rogers ranch https://www.parks.ca.gov/NewsRelease/1346

Sixties, I don't believe that Dennis Wilson's house was destroyed. Another house in Will Rogers State Park was burned. I was able to find Wilson's house at app.watchduty.org . You can zoom in enough to see house numbers. The house is in an evacuation order area but not in the burn zone.

I'm going to watch after commenting. I'm very grateful for this site and the folks who run it because I'm a history junkie with a brain a sponge for info. And to all of you in the LA area, I hope you & yours are safe & unharmed. Also, my belated greetings and best wishes for all in the year 2025 - may the craziness ease up just a tad for all of us.

Has anyone looked into whether the former Dennis Wilson home burned this week? It's right there in the Palisades . . .

I would assume all of the Manson family haunts are gone.
