TJ was a hoot! If he would have lived he would have been made for reality TV. Would have liked to have seen him be a guest of the lady, with all the containers, that lived in northern Alaska.
Does anyone know who the pro-Manson guy in the audience is?
Kinda hard to figure out who's dumbest... the audience (for taking Geraldo seriously), Geraldo (for taking Bill Nelson seriously) or the "family" (for thinking that them appearing on a show like this was ever gonna turn out any other way)? Entertaining but you're right, Matt... definitely a "pathetic circus". :-)
Thank you, Matt, for sharing these videos lately. Although they may have been around a while, they are not always accessible as other blogs have shut down or haven't maintained their links. The Manson Family Blog is the go-to place for these resources.
Also, talk shows used to pay their guests back in the day. I knew of some people (mostly actors, artists, musicians without full time employment) pretend to be in dysfunctional relationships to appear on television. Not sure about some people in the audience though.

Good point, Patty... I hadn't even considered the fact that they might be doing it for the bucks.

I called the Geraldo show and spoke to CC, the wife of Geraldo. I liked her very much on the telephone and I found her to be a real positive part of the behind the scenes production. "Bill, we do not pay for guests to appear..how much are we talking about?" "Oh, about $500 a piece, plus the normal limosine ride to and from the airport, not only one night in the luxury hotel, but two night, the normal 50 a day for food". Done! …
Let me see if I understand this, TJ, you need money to get your bus back? If you do not do the show, how much money will you have?" TJ replied, "Nothing." "But if you do the show, how much money will you have?" "..500 for me..$500 for Ansom, $500 for Carol.., $500 for John, food, hotel. Hey yeah, we would have some money! Okay, we will do it."

I'm one of the disappointed idiots who watched Al Capone's Vault.
