Caged at sixteen years old. Because I'm all bleeding heart and dumbly, I find myself wishing I could fire up the dune buggy time machine and morph into some 1950 Karlene Faith therapist dude and say, "Yo, Chuck. You gotta chill." But I'm not sure Charlie would listen. I surely did not listen to adults at sixteen.
When I was sixteen, I loved a girl named Kira. She played bass, was more than a decade older, and married someone way more famous than me. So great was my pain I placed a curse upon their marriage. The curse eventually worked but Kira never came my way.
By then, I loved a surfer named Janet anyway. But Janet never received my mind messages through the tv and was therefore also lost to me.
I have one more post for the weekend unless some of the actual blog writers appear ready to go before then. One small issue with my upcoming post is I've temporarily misplaced all of the research. So there's that.
I love you even if you don't love me. +ggw ohio.

This AM for some reason I read the Wiki article on Merle Haggard.
It isn't much of a stretch to see the similarities between Haggard and Manson, as regards personality type and cultural background.
I'm guessing Kira Roessler? Yup, that Mike Watt is a tough act to follow.....
Dare to dream is what my old grandpappy used to say. He blew himself up with his still when the government men closed in. There's no record of it happening but hey this is Manson research.
I'm a robot disguised as another type of robot.
Palm trees.
Shoe, I'm a Merle Haggard fan. He was one of the real ones.
Kira just put out a solo album and, has won an Academy Award.
Her brother Paul's done okay too.
Janet still surfs. Plays bass more than drums now. Still funny as hell!!
Great women GGW!

To my mind, this is undeniable.
But to show you how it was *then*, after Okie from Muskogie, he was the Prince of Fuckin' Darkness...
LOL!
I heard willie nelson this week and thought of charlie.
I guess I'm amongst friends here. Does anyone know what's going on with Hank 3? Apart from what's on Google, which is bugger all. Anyone got some 'close personal/professional contacts'? I got into him a few years ago in the Utah desert.
Hi, Milly. I'm not in that loop, sorry. Hope you are doing well :)
Milly,
If you're referring to the son of Bocephus, since he left the punk scene, I'm your kind. I'm an arm chair fan of the first two but haven't heard much of #3 in years. He is in the clip linked below (for a few seconds) and in the full documentary for a longer period.

DIVERGING FOR AN OBSERVATION:
Last night I saw a PBS program on Richard III, specifically, did he kill those two kids in the Tower back in 148(?).
Watching it, I was struck by remarkable similarities to the TLB crowd. There's the struggle to find fact--a cold case if ever there was one, but not hopelessly so--and you then have groups of supporters of those who are sure that Richard was the devil incarnate--and they've gone and started their inquiry with "Well, we're sure he did it, so let's look for supporting evidence", to a well-organized, long-standing group called something like The Richard III Society, and they start with the assumption that he was framed, and they tend to look for support for that result.
Both groups, however, when asked if they just might be attempting to justify an established conclusion, roundly deny it.
Now, the TLB case is better documented, but what we can see here is that we seem to have two groups--Manson as Satan vs Bugliosi screwed poor Charlie, and this is near identical to the Richard III thingie.
In both cases there's a somewhat disinterested group that does a reasonably objective job of exploration, but even there you have bias creeping in.
Human nature is funny. To steal from Morrison,
"People are strange..."
Hi Milly!
I haven't seen Hank III since my friend Izzy Cox was touring with him and he was performing a country set followed by a thrash set.
Izzy died. Devastating for me and, many others as she was the real deal...and, talented as hell and, a survivor.
You might like her. There's a documentary recently released about her....here's a trailer

And, here's my favourite Izzy Cox song, "Devil, Devil" performed live on radio somewhere

I kinda think her death was a big blow for Hank III...they were close.
Sorry that I can't give you more info....
Cheers
Thanks Doug and Orwhut. I will be looking up Izzy Cox. Shelton seems to have gone to ground these days. And one of his half sisters has been killed too. I bought some sweatshirts - Hell Betty - from his website some years ago and it turned out I was dealing with his Mum, Gwen!
Flippin' eck! Killer from Hawaii with Tressa Burns was out of this world. Can't believe That Voice has passed me by. Diolch Doug!
She was a very talented woman and she was also a complete and, genuinely original person.
Another "old punk rock friend of mine" who has similarly amazing talent and charisma is Bernadette Seacrest.
Here's a couple of introductory links to Bern...
6ft and fully tattooed too!

Not my fave from this album but, somewhat TLB (Cass Elliott) related

Apparently Hank III and Izzy had a huge falling out before she passed. I never knew that.
I'm only commenting now because I want to see if Milly ever replies and I've checked the box to have email comments emailed to me. This thread is getting more and more difficult to find.
Orwut - I'm here. How brilliant to tracked! x
For one day only...Hank 3 Fan profile for Orwhut.
