Weirdly related, Charles Schulz, Peanuts creator, had a shooting at his offices back in the mid 90s. I was living in Santa Rosa at the time so got the play by play as it happened.
Schulz's business manager had an affair with a woman at office. His wife found out and went to the office and shot her husband, then tried to kill herself. Neither died, but Schulz's reaction was out of the ordinary, he took the side of the shooter wife and even posted her $2 million bail.
Hideous yet superb.
