Hand signals: What do they mean?

I am sure most of you have studied the above photo, and though a lot about what it meant. I sure have. What year this photo was taken, I haven't a clue, but from the hair style, it looks to me like it might be late 70's early 80's at the most. The question I would like answered is this: WHAT THE FUCK is she doing with her hand? Is it an "M?" If so, does that mean an "M" for Manson? Could it be something else, like some secret, woman club she had at the prison? Could it be a "W" for woman? An "M" for Manwich? What? Aiy!

In the second photo, we have another weird, hand thing going on. Of course, this photo is of Manson himself, and he always has a secret riddle to figure out. He isn't a "beat around the bush" type of guy, unless we are talking about something else. You know what I mean. Observe, and please let me know if you think it could be connected.

I do believe the third photo below was taken at the same time as the one above, but maybe a few seconds before or after. Same hand thing, though.

And last, but not least, we need to talk about the horrendous wound that was "carved" on poor Leno LaBianca. Out of respect for the victim, I really don't want to have to publish the whole photo of his body, so I will just show the "W" or whatever it is. The "W" on that wound looks an awful lot like the hand signal that Manson & Pat were sharing in photos.

What do these mean? Has anyone ever asked Manson, or Pat? Well, now that I think about it, you'd probably get a bullshit answer from them anyway. Ya know, I am surprised nobody has brought that up at Pat's parole hearings. Then again, there isn't any real "proof" that she was doing it out of an alliance to Manson. Shall we discuss?

  1. AustinAnn, that isn't her hand. Clearly she is posing above the hairy arms of an unseen man. This photo is staged to draw attention to the fact that she was only a puppet operated by the hidden hand of a controlling male, ie Manson. Perhaps she hopes this photo will have a subliminal effect on the parole board.

As for Manson's fingers, it does look kind of 'W'-ish. And 'W' sure is easier for fingers to imitate than 'HS'. Or 'BS', for that matter.

  3. The "hairy" Pat jokes are getting about as old and redundant as the Col's Orca jokes...just saying....

  5. Very interesting ANN - just add a photo of U.S. President LBJ in a suit to the pics of "hairy" PAT and CHARLIE wearing the vest and YOU have the the story of the 1960's - without even mentioning a WORD.

I suppose you could also add a photo of the little napalmed naked girl crying on a road in Vietnam - for those who still don't get it.

  6. Wow interesting subject. I started looking at prison hand signs and had my eyes opened to how many there are. If Manson were illuminati his hand signal would mean "triple tranny" ha ha.
If Pat were doing her signal these days it could mean she was a fan of the rapper Drake Young Money.
There were similar hand signals in racist white gangs but I didn't see a match. Also the three fingers does stand for W.

  7. @ Austin Ann says :
    Why was she doing that?
IF it does mean something at all, then I think asking Krenwinkle is the thing to do...I mean she wants to come clean a long time.....or isnt she ??

  8. It's a W. The W stands for "Why am I doing this?"

  11. "In 1942, Aleister Crowley, a British occultist, claimed to have invented the usage of [the 'V for victory' hand-sign used by Churchill] in February 1941 as a magical foil to the Nazis' use of the Swastika. He maintained that he passed this to friends at the BBC, and to the British Naval Intelligence Division through his connections in MI5, eventually gaining the approval of Winston Churchill. Crowley noted that his 1913 publication Magick featured a V-sign and a swastika on the same plate.[33]"

Pretty sure it ties into occultist beliefs like the above regarding the use of symbols & symbolic hand-gestures. These are old ideas and have passed into common use through various hand-gestures. The idea being that a symbol can project or be used to project a certain intention or power. Really don't think there is much to this one though, it's an M for Manson, two M's superimposed over each other on the unfortunate body probably to emphasise or INCREASE the 'power'. Though maybe I just have no imagination.

  12. to me Patricia photo looks like the late 70s as Austin said. I think she was done and over with manson by then right? so it wouldn't relate to manson? also I wonder what was the occasion of this photo as well as the glam photos of Susan Atkins. Was a friend visiting? How do they get the civilian clothes?

  13. So, you're saying she was trying to carve the word MANSON on poor Leno's body, but got bored and quit?

  14. NEWS FLASH ! Major TV Network reported last night that Charles MANSON's marriage license is expiring and HE is likely NOT to be married unless it is re-applied for.

No credit was given to the MansonBlog.com for its research or originally breaking the story, BUT this was to be expected, given the fact that "corporate institutions" are merely extensions of a government controlled society.

AND the masses will NEVER get it.

  16. Isn't the W supposed to mean mean War?...that seems so obvious that I'm sure I'm missing something, it wouldn't be the first time. Also, in a couple of pictures Susan Atkins uses her thumb and first finger to make a circle around her eye almost like it's a monocle ala Col. Klink...was this just something she did or has anyone seen the same sign used by others?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think Grace Slick did the circle around the eye on a Jefferson Airplane album cover.

  18. Thanks Mr. Humphrat, I didn't know if it was a Manson related thing or just something good old Susan Atkins did to further call attention to herself. She certainly did manage to bring attention to herself,( not to mention the others) It's still amazing to see how those women acted while on trial for their lives and even afterwards- they didn't seem to have a care in the world.

  19. The fact that an upside-down M would form a W - "war" - is a good catch Krissy, I'm certain that wouldn't have escaped the Mansonites. I feel positive they would have seen the dualism in that concept (Manson is love/peace, but also War; Jesus & the Devil), but maybe I'm projecting a little.

  20. If you look at p. 145 of Schreck's first book you can see Sandy with James Mason forming what Schreck calls a 'mudra' (a Hindu/Buddhist concept)- "Mudras are positions of the body that have some kind of influence on the energies of the body, or your mood. Mostly the hands and fingers are held in some position, but the whole body may be part of the mudra as well."

This is the famous pointing 'one finger up' which has been mocked here ("pull my finger!"), but I think in Sanders' book is said to come from Manson thinking the two-fingered peace-symbol (also Churchill's victory-symbol, possibly invented by Aleister Crowley, oo-ee-oo) was goofy and that what was needed wasn't peace but one-ness, or some bullshit. In the Schreck picture Sandy is doing it with either hand- one pointing up, one down. It's the first thing I thought of when I saw Ann's pictures & comments.

  22. Chatsworth I just realized what you meant by slider in the dirt I love it. I was also thinking he could be signaling to Squeaky to carry out Plan 3.

  24. To me it's plain simple - war! And that signal Sadie did could mean a W as well. You do a circle and the three other free fingers do it. War, Death to Pigs!

  27. I realize this post is over a year old but Manson explained what this was in his Rolling Stone interview back in 1970:

    http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/charles-manson-the-incredible-story-of-the-most-dangerous-man-alive-19700625

" So I started using the symbols. Every time I go into court, or have my picture taken, I use another Masonic sign. Like the three fingers, two fingers outstretched. When the judge sees it, it really freaks him out because he can't say anything. When I see them making these signs in court I flash them back at them."

Krenwinkel probably read this interview and copied him or Manson just told them to do the same. In Manson's mind he imagines this is what a Freemason hand signal is because in typical fashion he never really read in depth on the subject. You've heard the expression 'A little knowledge is a dangerous thing"? In Manson that was especially true. He had little knowledge of lots of things. Had he actually studied things in depth things might be different but I doubt he's capable of that. He simply doesn't have the attention span.

  31. Surprised it took until 2017 for anyone to comment anything remotely close to an adequate answer for the 'A' in 'WAR' symbol - it's the sigil of Saturn, also seen in the masonic square and compass, and a common repeating motif or pattern in, say, playpens, garden trellis, diamond-shaped windows... Mundane, but I find it interesting where it shows up. In conjunction with this, think again on the nature of the 'X' on the forehead, over the third eye, which is - X - the 24th letter of the alphabet, equalling 6 (2+4), number of man, number of beast, at least so the bible says, and standing for the unknown, the superunknown, the mystery... and the swastika, also an x shape, with four branches, limbs, or hooks, and which clearly indicates for many ancient cultures, beyond its most recent use and potential bastardisation in Nazi Germany, a knowledge that we have lost or forgotten (but which our ancient ancestors knew well). From my stream-of-consciousness, free association it means, or represents: energy, force, seasons, (changing, change), elements, aether, and sun, an old and ancient sun; the hidden or spiritual sun. Read more around this, but maybe it's better not to read or think but to feel... to feel it out. We're truly in deep. Wishing you well!

  32. The up and down chevrons mean man and woman.
The w hand signals could be m for man and turned upside down is w for woman.
I’m curious when the women when walking through jail or maybe a court house each of the girls sign ear chin ear. In sign language means def pig def. but I’m sure it has a Draper significance than that. If anyone knows more I’d love to know.

  33. Look into old drawings/ paintings of known Masons such as isaac newton, various popes, even photos of the astronauts who were known to be higher lodge members. I think you'll all be able to put it together. Just remember, the world is NOT what you've been told; you live within the matrix that has been created for your perception of belief.
