John Lennon: Creative Ziggy Stardust and SADIE GLUTZ

Sent by blog reader "Chris from the UK"...

I often read the manson blog but have never posted.

I thought I'd send you this link in case you wanted to put it on the site.

It's one of John Lennon's last interviews and it has quite an interesting Manson connection.

At 36.00, John talks about how the response to the Plastic Ono Band album would have been different if it had been released under a pseudonym. One pseudonym he mentions is "Creative Ziggy Stardust and SADIE GLUTZ".

That's right, SADIE GLUTZ.

I assume that John had read a lot about the Manson family members and that name had stuck with him. I cannot see how that would just be a coincidence as it's such an odd name to use.

Yup. Bowie was never the same after he got clean!

Patty begs to differ... the low/heroes/lodger trilogy, scary monsters, let's dance, outside. All brilliantat, all sober.

To each their own. I never liked pop music Bowie. I preferred the drugged-out sexually confused version. LOL.

I'm with Matt on this one. There isn't too much pop music that I like. I like trippy lyrics and a lot of improvisation. Most of the music that I listen to I consider too good for the radio. I am a fan of early Bowie.....

Out of all the concerts I've seen, Bowie put on the best!

Thanks for sharing Chris...I'd never heard this interview before...what a shock to hear Lennon speak that name...he, of course, penned Sexy Sadie never imaganing that crazy people would be thinking....he's singing about me and Charlie knew about it ahead of time...

Bowie was a raging alcoholic up until Never Let Me Down...an album bad enough to scare anyone straight.

Nine Inch Nails opened for Bowie for his concert tour in 1995.

"In a 2012 Rolling Stone reader's poll, the tour (pairing Nine Inch Nails with Bowie) was named one of the top 10 opening acts in rock history"

The girls had Buck knives, but Bobby used a Bowie knife.

Did you hear about that *Legally Blonde* actress? Reese What's-Her-Name? She just got arrested for a domestic violence attack against her husband.

"Witherspoon?"

No, with her knife.

Forensic scientists identified OJ's murder weapon as most likely a Gerber knife, based on slice pattern and unique scallop of a Gerber model, but because the weapon was never found it wasn't introduced at the trial.

Im a 'uuuge JL fan (except for the bits when he was a bit of an arse...)
Ive read many of his bio's. but I think it was one of Pauls that i was reading where he/they, friends with Bowie at the time were invited up to his suite in a hotel in the states to hear his new record ( one of the big ones but i cant recall right now ). At first they thought "great, well done mate". When it finished playing the whole set, paul asked if he could put on another record. Bowie proceded in putting his own on again. Fair enough....But when they realised he was about to put it on a third time, they legged it on him haha. Poor Bo-Bo ! Thanks Chris for sharing!

John Lennon shares official song writing credit with Bowie for *Fame*. But Lennon has said he was so stoned he doesn't remember the studio session with David.

"If it wasn't for flashbacks, I'd have no memory at all." - David Bowie

OMG, Matt, that is exactly true. I've talked to people who have entire 10 year black-outs from their lives.

Does that mean Charlie Manson could have jammed with John Lennon and others in LC and nobody remembers ?

I've wondered IF the TL KILLERS really don't remember and simply repeat what they've read or were told to say with respect to those August nights.

They sure could NOT tell the Parole Board "Hey Jack, I was so stoned that night, I can't remember." That would get them another hundred years in prison.

After all of the LSD I took back in the day and I've never a flashback. I can"t help but feel cheated.....

I used to be avid outdoors man. All of my knives were Gerber.....

Manson is the wizard. He sent his thoughts across the ocean into Lennon's head.

What did Charlie have to say after John was assassinated, I wonder?
