Earlier this summer I was watching the news and there was a big story about the rain that hit the San Francisco Bay Area. We very rarely get rain in the summer. Anyway, who should they happen to interview for the story?
Rosina Kroner!!!
Yes, Tex Watson's girlfriend who was loosely connected to the shooting of Lotsapapa by Charles Manson. She is being interviewed at her stand in the town of Bodega where she sells goods on the weekend. The TV station misspelled her last name but if you Google the correct spelling you will find a listing for her and her shop in Bodega.

She looks older than she should be. You know i once looked for her on the web and found that listing, about thrift shops in Bodega Bay. But there was no pictures and i wonder if this is indeed the lady.
It's definitely the hair that makes her look older. If she had a good cut & color, it would take 20 years off. Also, I see she is still in retail sales.....Good for her!

It is the same Rosina. I did some background checking on her before posting this. Her name is unique with only one other in the US who has that name. That Rosina would be 99 years old if she were still living. This Rosina is 71 years old.

Austin Ann, there were no skills involved! I was just watching the news and almost fell out of my recliner when I saw Rosina. Since it was one of the top stories of the night there was a video online. Normally the station does not put up videos of their weather stories.
@ChrisPOA, this is splitting hairs but Rosina's shop is in the itty bitty town of Bodega, which is where the film The Birds was filmed. It is inland.
Bodega Bay is right on the coast and though still a small town it's much larger than Bodega.
A young girl is KIDKNAPED by Black drug dealers - Nobody calls the cops ?
A White guy comes and SAVES her and shoots the the lead "kidknaper" - Nobody calls the cops ?
Awhile later, a Prosecutor asks the lead "kidknaper" to testify against the really BAD guy who SAVED the young girl.

She doesn't seem to have been pretty in the past, and i thought she was supposed to, for Tex said in his book she was "good looking, hip (but not hippie) as other women living in Hollywood at that time"

I'm a couple of decades younger than Rosina. At class reunions each year I'm stunned by how many of the girls who were pretty in high school now look well past their age and well, aren't very attractive. Heck, look at Barbara Hoyt.
Yes Matt, you're right. Hoyt is almost unrecognizable. People age in different forms - it's about DNA, lifestyle, money, etc, etc.
Patty saw a photo of Matt's mother in law today, she's in her 80s but doesn't look a day over 55. How does she do it?! If she is anything like Matt she probably lives on chicken breast, quinoa and wheat grass. Wowza.

Patty if you're serious about meeting her, why not be direct and ask her if she is the same Rosina Kroner written about by Ed Sanders in The Family. My vote is that she is the Rosina we are curious about.

It's her. Big deal. She was only thrown to the wolves by Tex, then tied up and held prisoner by Lotsapoppa, whom she witnessed being shot by Manson.

I"m guessing she testified for Bugliosi? But I'm guessing she's never been interviewed through the years. Can anyone give me a guess as to how many Manson family associates have changed their names? I saw a record of "ouish's" marriage in '68 to the bus driver-a very unusual last name. Did they stay married?
Hump, Ouisch left CA by the mid-70's. She wound up getting re-married and raised a family so I'm sure that that marriage was dissolved somehow.

This reminds me of an article I once read where Neal Cassady's daughter bumps into a grown child of another Merry Prankster in the supermarket. They were wondering if anyone would give a hoot if they knew who they were. LOL.
Chatsworth Charlie I see what you mean. Either that guy was really short or Rosina was standing on something that is obscured by the table. If she were that big it would have been Crowe that would have been in trouble.
I think people 'give a hoot' when they are interested in the subject matter. Wow, that's an obvious thought, eh? But I have been a Kerouac/Ken Kesey junkie for years so yeah that article would interest me.
Just as obviously it is doubtful anyone would be interested in Rosina outside of the hard core TLB bloggers. But yeah, SHE IS A BIG DEAL because she was a very interesting side character to one of the top three crime stories of the 20th century in America. Obviously she wasn't central to Charlie's story per se, but to dismiss her as insignificant is non-creative at best and arrogant at worse. Who the hell 'forgets the next day' being kidnapped, tied up and witnessing someone being shot. You have to be seriously skewered and jaded to promote that storyline.
A Patty and Deb led interview would be the balls.

I mostly find myself objecting to 'absolute' statements where someone poses an opinion as if it is the biblical truth and anyone who disagrees is a closed-minded moron. It's why the Col and I could never be buddies.
In this case I most respectfully disagree with Matt. I just don't see the sarcasm in the post. It reads like a serious opinion from my view. But I certainly accept the possibility that I just don't get it. I'm not looking to start a feud - been down that road before and it bores me now. But I will still object to what I see as illogical assertions. It's just the Spock in me.

And from what I have read and seen also in UK, its the changes in the food itself are putting weight on the women. Somehow on men it doesnt make them look so soft. All those hormones and antibiotics in the meat...stuff totally banned in Europe. I always try and buy my food from Europe and try never buy American or Chinese.

Sure she gave a short interview on the news about the weather but the news station didn't say, "Here we are with mass murderer Tex Watsons, ex girlfriend to see what she thinks of this weather." What if this isn't even her?! Some kook decides to go approach her in person or something? Either way its just plain wrong. You can't manage to be more responsible then this? Wow.

I bought my from her! She lived in Southern Humboldt County from 1985 to 1990. She told me she was going back to Mendocino. When I moved in we had a burn pile for some of the stuff in the house, which inadvertently had a few rounds of ammunition. The news report is definitely her twenty-five years later.

I would like to see the 1977 photo. The TV interview is definitely her. In 1990 she was middle aged and tall, I would say about six feet. she did not click with the Yippie dominated back=to-the-land movement in Southern Humboldt and went back to Mendocino and rented out the property. The land was up a steep poorly maintained road with an unfinished two room cabin, no phone, propane fridge, too primitive for her. Her land was predominately old growth hardwood and doug fir

Yes the photo is the Rosina Kroner that sold me my land and is also in the news report from Bodega. I still have a record collection she left. At that time she had already moved back to the Mendocino Coast. Tragically abused, she struck me as sad, intelligent, and screwed
