Yes, I think it is. Yes, I agree. She looked fabfuckingtastic in that movie. Her hair was such a beautiful shade of blonde. The style made it look thicker too. She was just gorgeous. She blew most of the chicks away that her rodent husband bonked.
I love wrap dresses. How lucky it was to be able to wear something that low cut without a bra too! In the age of so much phony bodies, like implants, liposuction, tummy tucks, and the Brazilian Butt lift, it is refreshing to see a photo that old of a girl that was naturally beautiful without a surgeon's help.
In the 1st photo, she's actually wearing pants, I think it was a jumpsuit. Diane's wrap dresses were invented in 1974, celebrating their 40th aniversary this year. Check out www.dvf.com
CarolMR, I graduated from high school the year of the murders and remember the girls wearing lots of eye makeup. I must have forgotten those awful lines.
I thought I recognised the wrap dress. Nice, aren't they?
In the Valley of the Dolls promo, I wonder if she was hormonal or something, because her body looks much more voluptuous. You can see what she might have been like as she aged. She might have become very lush. I wonder is there anyone here with the skills to do that, to age Sharon?
She's not wearing a wrap dress as they weren't even invented until the 1970's. For some reaosn, my full-length photo showing the outfit (a jumpsuit) isn't showing up. I'll try to find it again.
I still don't think the photo showed up, my computer isn't letting me see soem images so I'm not sure. I'll send the photo to Carol and have her post it. Then you can see that it's not a dress, but a jumpsuit. I like it!
Venus, I'm so sorry - I can't get the picture to post here but I can see it in my inbox. It's a jumpsuit and Sharon has a cast on her foot and she's wearing the ring-bracelet combo jewelry. Sorry.
Sharon was only 26 years old yet I've never seen an actress who had so many pictures taken of her. Thanks, Matt.
ReplyDeleteThe color photo, third from bottom is my favorite. Such a beautiful girl. All three of the Tate girls were gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAustinAnn, is that picture from EYE OF THE DEVIL? Sharon never looked more beautiful than in that movie.

On the top she is wearing a very stylish wraparound dress which was invented around the same time by Diane Von Furstenburg. :)
ReplyDeleteIn the photo taken by Roddy McDowell, which was in one of his books, Mia Farrow wrote the accompanying text about her friend Sharon.

Sharon was a beaytiful woman but, I don't think that heavy line she put across the top of her eyelids did her any good at all.
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt I'll email you more pics soon
ReplyDeleteOrwhut, every actress/model/teen drew that line across their eyelids in the 60s.

ReplyDeleteLovely photos and I also think she was at her most gorgeous in the era of "EOTD."
ReplyDeleteVenus, in the first photo - is that the one where Sharon is also wearing a ring-bracelet combo? I had never seen anything like that before.
ReplyDeleteI think so. I'm trying to find other photos from that same time. I've seen many of them but, of course, now that I want to find one, I can't.
ReplyDeleteHere you go, Carol!

I hope you can see the photo, my computer is acting up and won't let me see any images right now.
ReplyDeleteCan't see the picture yet, Venus, but I'll keep trying.

Hi Ladies, Nice 2CU
ReplyDeleteOrwhut, I went to a parochial school so no one wore that line on her eyelid! I think mostly models and actresses used that makeup technique.
ReplyDeleteI thought I recognised the wrap dress. Nice, aren't they?

Fiona, do you mean the last picture?

Venus, I grabbed the pic & tacked it to the bottom of the post...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Matt!
ReplyDeleteYes, a big thank you to Matt.
