Maybe they're sitting on it until something big happens that will help it sell big out of the gate.....
The only thing big enough would be Manson dying.
And that isn't going to happen for another hundred years!
Paramount buys movie franchises and sits on them, does nothing, doesn't merchandise them... They may feel that the book won't do well, so they are waiting. Or the drafts of the book were bad and it was shelved.

Many movies are optioned and never made
Makes Patty think that ALL of the studios are sitting on Manson movies, waiting for the calculus regressions to indicate that it's time to maximize their profits.
Then we will get our wave of Manson movies: a huge tidal wave of movies the likes of which are usually reserved for tornadoes, volcanoes and meteor showers.
Patty cannot freaking wait.
I, too, have been totally dying to read this book. I always like to watch Gypsy interviewed, although I caught lies coming out of her mouth regularly. She is smooth, intelligent, and comes across as extremely sincere. Can anybody please explain to me what was the credit card scam she allegedly became involved with in the '70s or '80s? I would also like to know if she has continued to stay out of trouble in these past few years. I did read that she stays out of the public eye, is extremely involved in her church, and is involved with her adult son's life. I rarely hear anything about her, except that we're waiting for this book.... I bet she reads this blog, so I want to send her a shout out. Hi Gypsy!

I was just wondering. What are the lies that you've heard from her. Out of all of the people involved I would like to interview her and Nancy Pitman the most. I think they're the two most interesting and articulate but that's just my opinion.
And Catherine, I like that you aren't involved in that stuff anymore and good for you.......
We are having a heat wave out West right now. Fortunately I live in one of the cooler areas, it's way hotter than usual but bearable. I just checked the temp for Death Valley and it's 121 right now expected to hit 126 by 6 pm. That's insane!
I live in the Sierras and it almost hit 100 today. I'm running my AC for the first time this year. I lived in Sacramento for 19 years and was acclimated to the heat but then I lived in the Monterey area for 7 years where it rarely gets above 85 in the summer. I'm just not used to the heat anymore...... But, if that's my biggest problem I'm doing pretty well....... Stay cool all you Californian Mansonphiles......

are they holding it in order to make a movie from it when manson dies? of all the manson women she is the most interesting. remember her parents committed suicide instead of being taken by the Nazi's then their ends up following a man with swastika carved into his forehead and marries an Aryan brotherhood member. it would make a great movie.
Hi Beauders, I agree with you. Man, I'd dig it if I could have a couple hours to pick Gypsy's brain. I find her very intelligent and articulate. I also like how you pointed out the irony of her parents' suicide and the forehead swastika and marrying an AB.
Optioning does not mean buying.
Paramount optioned it to make a movie.
Paramount Vantage was closed down.
Rights reverted to Gypsy. You know, the perjurer, shooter at cops,credit card frauder for a decade. Who would believe anything the bitch said.
Hi Doc Sierra, to answer your question directed to me: I remember a bunch of small lies in her youtube interviews from various years. I cannot remember all the examples, but here are two I definitely recall. Gypsy said in one interview that she was one of the younger girls. Not true, we all know this. In another much earlier interview she admitted she was one of the older girls, her point being that she was not as easy for Charlie to indoctrinate as the younger girls (probably true). Another lie involved the girls "crawl" to the courthouse on their hands and knees: she pretended to be very shocked to learn that the crawl had been filmed. We all know that the crawl was a publicity stunt, a staged performance intended to be seen on the 6PM news. This particular interview was when she was older, maybe in her 50s, and I am sure she was embarrassed that the film of the crawl is still available for anyone to see. There are quite a few other small lies and fabrications, everything based on a nugget of truth to add to her credibility. I remember thinking how slick she is, how earnest she sounds when she speaks. Gypsy is my favorite, I admit it.

Doc Sierra, you're welcome. Watch her youtube appearances and you will catch lotsa little things that are not quite true. I have not re-watched them yet.
She seems to have aged better than most of them!
