I want to thank ALL for the totally unexpected success of MANSON's return to a theater - after over 3 decades.
Our final encore showing out-grossed every previous showing. AND, of course, NOW the cult classic is poised to grace screens all across America - once again.
In the final Q & A a person asked what the "truth" is and I replied: The truth is what you want to make of it - because now there are only previously undiscovered pieces to the puzzle - waiting to be revealed.
IE: When Bugliosi interrogated Gregg Jakobson about a white vs black war, Gregg confirmed that Charlie "advocated" for the black man to "serve" white man as "President", "the police" and even "legislators."
Then, all the prosecutor needed was a witness to drop the words "President", "the Police" and "legislators" and instead say: "serve white man" and we got an "evil mastermind" trying to ignite a "Black / White" race war -Helter Skelter. BUT, I'm NOT complaining!!! Nor is the government that collects tax $$$ on the revenue made from the exploitation of MANSON.
My Best
Robert
OK here is where the kumbaya ends for me...
ReplyDeleteI respect Mr. Hendrickson- but there is something which makes me uneasy about people making jokes and laughing about money over all of this... people were viciously killed.
I am glad everyone got rich who decided that was the way to capitalize from this event- and his movies are damn good- I paid to own two of them.
But he was literally in the right place at the right time and that doesn't make him an expert, or the final word, on why this happened any more than it does Ed Sanders, or John Waters who also attended the trail.
AND once again another inference that there has to be more to the story and Bugs is making shit up for his own financial gain...
The implication here again is that Bugs got people to change their stories to Helter Skelter, so he could .....
What exactly???
What difference did H/S make as a motive versus any other??
He needed it to show what???
that they obeyed and followed Charlie? That they did it to start a race war? That they believed in an upcoming armageedon???
Bugs had a courtroom filled with witnesses who said the family searched for a hole in the dessert for just that purpose. He had the girls on trial who mimicked and obeyed Charlies every command in front of the jury. He had a truck full of family members amening Charlie when he spoke in front of police officers. He had a street outside the court filled with followers who did the same. He had a door from the ranch with the phrase painted on it- he had one of the victims refrigerator doors with the word painted on it by one of the killers. He had at least a dozen members of the family repeat the same stories and lectures over and over about the subject. If you were a juror at that trial and you saw those people act the way they did- how much convincing would you need that these people were totally under Charlies spell?? they acted like mindless robots for gods sakes. whatever he did - they did and they acted in the most bizarre ways imaginable in front of the TV and the whole country/world. What did Bugs need to make anything up for? It was the most incredible spectacle people had ever seen. This wasn't going to go away no matter what the reason it happened was. he was handed a slam dunk story with legs, and if it weren't him it could have been anyone else. Any person would have had there issues for us to comb over and they all would have had flaws. but any moron with half a brain would have been in a position to make money from this story. It isn't very different from the OJ case. A book was going to happen no matter who tried the case- it was already a national story before it ever went to trial.
Why does it always have to be more???
ReplyDeleteI think Mr. Hendrickson nailed it.
$$$$$$$$$$$- the almighty dollar.
as long as we keep believing there is more to the story- more people will keep buying more trying to find the more. Those of us who care will keep caring. We wont move on to other things while this huge mystery is still out there.
Its getting old, and smart, studied people like me are starting to not buy it any more.
After reading Schrecks book I felt like it was a last ditch effort to cash in one last time, and its starting to make sense now. you can only keep coming up with new people who nobody knew was around to shed new light so many times before you run out of things and start making shit up.
The truth is not whatever we want it to be. If that were so- those people would still be alive- that's how I want it to be...
There was a reason that those people had to die and it may have been a senseless one, but the reason does exist. I did a post awhile back about motive and quoted a whole bunch of people. I had many more but couldn't fit all of them. It is interesting to note how many people who were actually with the family mention H/S or some element of it, and how many who weren't have other ideas...
Why is it we insist that those who were not there must know more than whose who were?
I personally respect the Col- Hendrickson, and all of my other elders who have been closer to this and have more in depth knowledge of the people and the times. I honestly do. I learned so much from reading and listening to them and people like them...
But in 46 years I have never let anyone else think for me or tell me I had to believe one thing or another, and I am not going to start now.
I have listened to thousands of hours of parole hearings and trial testimony and read almost every book written on the subject by those who were there and I have finally come to one conclusion which is backed up by the actual words of those who were a part of it....
Helter Skelter was a factor of life at the ranch. the Col might not believe it- most of you might not believe it. Mr. Hendrickson might not believe it...
But I have no doubt in my mind a few of those crazy kids at Spahn Ranch believed it...
and unfortunately for the 7 people at Cielo and Waverly - that's all that counts
p.s.- I know plenty of people will disagree with this and I expect to hear it. but this is my opinion- presented as politely as possible and with all due respect to Mr. Hendrickson whose work I admire greatly and have appreciated for years. His movie is the best close up look at my favorite place and time in our countries history I have ever found. That doesn't mean I cant disagree with him or anyone else if done respectfully...
I would hope for the same when people disagree with me.
When I first got into this community I had read H/S and seen the documentary many many years earlier and forgotten most of it. I took H/S at its word and assumed it to be true.
ReplyDeleteThen I came across Col's blog and became more and more obsessed about what really happened. I drank the cool aid. not the Bugs Cool Aid- the Blog world Cool aid.
I had to be Cool. I had to be in the " know" lol It was uncool not to know H/S was bullshit.
All of the insiders and long time bloggers seemed to know something that I didn't. Bugs is bad guy, and a liar and there was all this other really cool shit going on that only the "Real Scholars" knew about...
Well I have spent 7 years as inside as one can get without having drinks with Hendrickson at El coyote
( can I please still be invited next year?)
I have spent as much time as anyone possibly could catching up on every site, book, rumor, and source I could get my hands on.
I have read book after book and listened to people like Screck, and Maury Terry, and Sanders say things which I know were not true.
And
I have heard at least one or two people who were there verify every word Bugs said in that courtroom...
I am never going to be that cool that I let my common sense and my eyes, and the head on my shoulders be trumped by the words of another.
7 years of ridiculous studying this case and not one single reliable piece of evidence of drug burn or any of the other theories have I been able to find. nor has anyone else, or we would all be aware of it by now....
Is it 100% impossible that a young DA from Minnesota came into something beyond his wildest imagination and did the best he could? That just maybe he did his investigation and simply called it like he saw it??
Happy Sunday from your favorite Saint ;
Great Picture
ReplyDeletedisclaimer...
ReplyDeleteI write my posts this morning with only a slight bit of jealousy that I didn't get to meet this guy myself.
Certainly Robert Hendrickson remains a person I would give anything to sit down with and ask questions and listen to stories of the times...
And as a most honored guest of this blog- I hope that I did not go too far in my assessment of his financial motivations regarding anything. Certainly he was a man of the 60's and has great character and integrity. I know the tone I used may sound otherwise, but coincidentally- I
just finished writing a piece on this very topic and maybe am still a little fired up on the topic...
Think before you speak has never been my strong suit
peace
Manson was extremely fascinating to watch. I loved the music too. Unfortunately I have never seen the other one. I asked my significant other if he would buy it for me, and he thought that I was somewhat of a freak to want something like that. :-(
ReplyDeleteAnyway...loved the Manson documentary.
Getting to see this historical masterpiece on the silver screen was indeed a treat.
ReplyDeleteMeeting Mr. Hendrickson after a couple of years of getting to know him on-line made it even better. He's a very interesting guy with tons of knowledge, a lot of which he hasn't come out with yet.
Like ColScott said of him "Homie was THERE".
Homie was there...
ReplyDeleteafter the crimes
- just like Sanders was who also did a famous piece of work based on the subject and is used as a reference for the subject- do you believe he should be the one who tells us what the motive is/isnt and do you take every word he says as gospel because he was at the trial, and the ranches immediately after the crimes???
Look I am just saying- he was there and that is fascinating for so many reasons and his work is so incredibly interesting....
But I am not sure that means we should keep letting people who have a major platform tell us about the " more" that never seems to materialize...
all of the same people who keep flaming the Bugs is liar- it isn't the truth flame...
never seem to offer the real truth.
They just keep us killing each other over a fight they insist needs to be fought.
How vauge was his answer about the truth?
yet once again we hear there is more to the story out there...
I sometimes feel like a pawn is all I am saying and it doesn't help to know that people make money off it. Not just Bugs- any of them...
But if it happens as a by product why is it only a reason to doubt credibility when it comes to Bugs??
questions I feel as an independent thinker I should be allowed to ask
It was a real treat meeting Robert and Toby. Can't wait for Patty's copy of Death to Pigs to arrive!
ReplyDeleteSome people don't care for it because it's a lot of dialogue transcribed verbatim. Patty on the other hand found it fascinating.
Patty would also like to hear from Robert about area 51 sometime. The parts that aren't classified, that is. ;)
ReplyDeleteyeah probably not a good idea to question a famous important figure who you are doing a tribute to right after he was gracious enough to spend some time with you...
ReplyDeleteMy luck might be better down at the beach
ST, your comments are always appreciated. Patty just disagrees with you, which does happen from time to time. LOL! Have fun at the beach today. You da man.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteHendrickson wasn't just some guy who showed up after the crimes were committed. He got to know the people at the ranch. He got to know Manson.
ReplyDeleteManson revealed a lot of information to Hendrickson. The two made a deal - Hendrickson is not to reveal this information until Manson is dead.
Yes, St. (And Leary) there IS a lot more to the story.
If you could simply let go of your "All American" need to persecute other people (especially those who are locked in a cage forever), it'll make sense to you.
Stop looking for "Manson the mastermind" theories and be more realistic about motive.
There were a handful of people involved in the crimes. There were also a handful of motives.
Thanks Max I have known you for two minutes- I am sue you know better anyway lol
ReplyDeleteMax you are allowed to have an opinion and I am allowed to have mine.
Sanders did just as much and saw just as much as Hendrickson and got just as close. so did many other people...
Schreck promised to tell us his secrets after certain people died as well....
How long do we hold our breath??
Max- I am not interested in any more new guys on the block who know it all and want to talk shit to anyone who has something to say.
every time somebody wants to be the new big shot on the block- I have to get into a big hassle that I didnt start...
This is the second time you have mentioned my name or got in my business when I have never addressed you in my life.
I have no idea who you are or what you want- but this is a place I helped establish for opinions. I will always make and give mine and if you dont like or agree with them- then make a counter argument- but when you start running your big mouth like a know it all jackass- I can no longer take your opinions seriously and have to conclude your just the next johnny come lately wanna be know it all...
Now Patty has mentioned a no fighting rule which i have been honoring for a very long time.
Sooooooo
to those who have authority on this site- instead of going the usual route and verbally exploding on this gentleman and getting myself in another doghouse- I ask that you please ask him to demonstrate some the manners you demand of me when I get insulting towards other people...
I hope that is polite enough.
Max - by all means- tell us the more to the story...
ReplyDeleteyou are so cocky sure- so let us all know what you figured out we cant find????
You go into a room with strangers and tell other people who spend alot of time trying to learn something they are wrong- you should at least know whats right....
Bugs left college with a law degree to take a shitty paying thankless job in the DA's office and spent months investigating and talking to every relevant person involved- but...
Max Frost knows what really happened...
lol so tell me
whats the truth???
Manson drove them to the labianca house went inside and tied them up and then picked which people went inside to finish the job...
ReplyDeleteEvery single person who was there said that...
what is the correct definition of mastermind???
you want to call it something else??
He was 35 years old man- let me see Max- was lulu making the decisions???
No it was the mafia...
no it was the process Church
no it was drug dealers
the underground sext tape club members
jays secratary
the labiancas daughters biker gang friends...
you know some of those sound just as silly to me as H/S....
the difference of course is that there is real tangible evidence of H/S and witnesses and testimony of people who lived through it...
ReplyDeletewhen you have some of that pointing to something else- you bring it out and I will happily apologize and thank you for shedding some light..
In the meantime- you dont have any more clue than anyone else what really happened and when you try and come off as someone who does- it makes you look like....
it isn't very attractive
and when I do this it doesnt make me look very attractive
so since neither of us really don't know...
lets not act like either one of us is in a position to tell the other he is wrong....
that's as cool as I am willing to be towards you until you learn how to play with others nicely
:)
There's always more to the story because stories are not dependent on facts. Because of this, stories have no ending.
ReplyDeletewho woulda thunk it, the Saint and I so sympatico. Great job, my beach friend. I too have an intense aversion to sanctimonious smart asses telling me how and what to think.
ReplyDeleteAs I said in previous thread, that guy is a HUGE turn-off to those of us who have strong opinions but also OPEN MINDS when it comes to TLB.
that's a very interesting thought, Cielo. But I wonder....
ReplyDeleteIs TLB in fact a story, or is it an event. And an event is based on facts - sightings and testimonies and hard evidence.
I personally do not believe "a story" can be conclusive within any high degree of probability. But I do think an event can be. Not 100% in most cases, but certainly in the 90's.
Just my way of looking at it.
I would respond to you St., but I don't have time to write 10 novel-length entries on a thread.
ReplyDeleteYou obviously do.
I'll just say, I've been researching the case for almost 20 years - long enough to know that you are grossly exaggerating your research.
Delete"I have listened to thousands of hours of parole hearings and trial testimony"
There ISN'T thousands of hours of parole hearings to listen to. Not even close.
And how is it that you "listened" to trial testimony? Is there audio of it that you uncovered? Is it online? Can you provide a link?
Or did you order transcripts and hire a bunch of neighborhood kids to reenact the trial in your backyard?
Matt...here is something I would love to know with regards to Robert.
ReplyDeleteIn TLB lore supposedly Manson told something to Robert and made him promise not to reveal it till after Charlie's demise.
First, does Robert confirm this?
Second, given the supposed monumental importance of this "news", is Robert's loyalty to Manson so great that he would indeed keep a secret for almost a half century,
Third, given the possibility that Robert might exit before Charlie, has he passed the info on to someone else?
I really am curious, from a sort of fictional story perspective, why someone like Robert would keep such a secret for someone like Manson. What would be the motive.
It is interesting to think what such news would even be worth today. Would a startling revelation about TLB even capture the public's attention? I know that sounds silly, but even if a drug burn or mafia connection could be established at this point, 43 years later, I seriously question if 5% of the general public would give a crap.
Liz and Matt...I'm just gonna say it and then go play elsewhere....
ReplyDeletethis guy Frosty the Blowhard is one stone cold asshole. You can do better.
Hi Leary,
ReplyDeleteThis info came straight from Hendrickson several years ago. I may even have it on tape.
As far as motive to keep a secret?
Manson is a guy who's loyal to you if you're loyal to him. And some people out there still retain the decency to maintain loyalty.
Also, Manson does honor the code and is not a name dropper. He usually dropped names after the people were dead. There's a lot of Hollywood types that fell into this story one way or another. Most of them kept it a secret.
A lot of embarrassment would be shared by a lot of well known people if this information were revealed. That could have a serious backlash on a guy who has zero rights and spends most of his time in solitary confinement.
Ok Ill play for a little bit longer
ReplyDeleteI misspoke in my irritated state- I have spent thousands of hours over the last 7 years listening and reading parole hearings and trial transcripts...
is that better? cause its true and that is how I know that not one single person has put Pat and Tex together....
for anything other than Charlie being in charge to have been true- the two main culprits of the crimes would have had to have had some common motivation or private connection right????
Where is one single shred of evidence that Pat and Tex had anything to do with each other outside of Charlie??
If Charlie didn't tell them specifically to go...
and Tex and Pat acted together for some other reason-
why has not one person anywhere ever given a reason Pat and Tex were in it together??
What is the connection you have that is better than what they have said themselves and what Bugs put forth....
Those were the ones who went because those were the ones Charlie picked...
Max we are still waiting for your better idea and the more you insist is out there...
or are you simply waiting for Charlie to die so Hendrickson can break it down for us
:)
yeah its Sunday - I am back from the beach and catching a buzz
I have all night to fuck with idiots like you.
alright never mind I am out of here- I read your last post ...
ReplyDeleteyou are clearly out of your mind and not to be taken seriously..
your no longer on my radar or worth my time...
Leary, you'd have to ask Robert Hendrickson those questions. I don't know the answers. I do suggest you read DEATH TO PIGS, though where he drops a hint.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Max goes, he does have a bit of an in-your-face edge to him but I don't recall him cursing or name calling (but I haven't re-read each comment over the last month, either). I have seen your comments where you say you prefer the "corner bar" atmosphere where everyone argues, gets angry, but in the end leave as friends...
if you met Max in person you'd "get him," as they say. Face to face. He can be prickly but he's hella endearing and earnest. And...he knows stuff: NOT johnny come lately. Patty hopes y'all can form a truce. Or at least not kick each other off the island, yet.
ReplyDeleteThere are things that happen and then there are the things that didn't happen. I believe in only what cannot be disproved. If something isn't true there will be something somewhere that does not fit. That's why a lot of bullshit stories are often short on specific details. Details leave too much room for error. As long as you always stay on the surface anything will seem possible.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, often times it's the smallest little detail that exposes things. A good example of this is this bullshit story that Rosemary LaBianca left her house to go get money out of a safe somewhere. This whole story is based off of how Rosemary was dressed and where Leno's car was parked. However, whoever came up with this story overlooked a very small and otherwise insignificant detail that disproves this event entirely.
Sorry Patty, but neither the Saint or I suspect many others on this board are going to react well to a newcomer telling us we are robots and idiots for accepting the standard TLB story, i.e., that Manson was/is guilty or ordering the eight murders and probably more.
ReplyDeleteThat just simple is not going to fly.
This all started when I mentioned the Boston bombing in a post and this Frost guy responded that I was some sort of moron for believing in the accepted story of the two brothers doing the bombing. He instead insinuated clearly that our government was behind the bombing.
Now I am Boston born and bred and some Cal conspiracy wacko insulting the victims of the Marathon bombing with some delusional belief that Washington was somehow behind the murder of those four Boston victims was just flat out more than I could stomach.
I have the highest respect for both Matt and you, Patty, but while this guy may be endearing to you he is the opposite to me.
Sorry.
Okay.
ReplyDeleteYou really like to put words in people's mouths Leary.
ReplyDeleteI never called you an idiot. I never clearly stated anything about who was behind Boston.
I referred to you as a brainwashed robot because that's how I refer to people who blindly go along with the government/media official narrative on things - including this case.
I only referred to you as a robot IN RESPONSE to you constantly hurling insults in my direction.
Grow up and take responsibility for your words and actions.
quick Liz, pass the peace pipe!
ReplyDeleteNuthin' like fun at the ole ballpark...
ReplyDeleteCielo...how can you leave us hanging. what was the detail.
ReplyDeleteYour example reminds me of the belief posted over on the Col's by a guy named David who is insistent that since Sadie said they saw Parent's car "coming up the driveway" and "coming up" usually means coming towards the house then Parent definately was shot coming into the property and he saw everything and never got to visit Garretson. This is of course such complete nonsense and yet it gets a shelf life. Amazing.
Events, stories, facts, delusions...tis indeed a tangled web.
I'm sorry Matt, I know you are trying to diffuse this situation with levity, but this guy really is to much to bear. I am going to follow the Saint's instinct and find a new spot to play and take this guy off my radar. He's just not worth the annoyance.
ReplyDeleteLeary & ST. I really didn't think Max was out of line but that's just my opinion. I think he delivers his message with a thump, but so what. He doesn't rant or curse. Katie over a different sort of place has that market cornered. Why don't the two of you drop the cursing & hurt feelings & debate like the passionate, angry men that you are and whom we all like. That would be worth reading.
ReplyDeleteOh, and congrats, Mr. Hendrickson!
sorry Suze, but I would not let a friend call me a brainwashed robot let alone some smart ass internet bully. I won't speak for the Saint, but I honestly don't have either the time or appetite to deal with someone like this guy.
ReplyDeleteLike Matt said, it is just a corner bar, and there are others. Check please.
Here is what I have to say...
ReplyDeleteI am officially done here
I have written a couple posts you can publish them or not- I could care less..
this is the second or third time someone I dont know has come on this bog and insulted me before I ever said one negative thing and not one word is said until I say something back.
I am not going to make a big deal out of this because if what he has written today is reasonable to you I have been wasting time thinking people in here had any sense at all...
He uses the word propaganda and then says not one word of detail about anything.
Its all a big secret which the chosen few will know at some point...
like where is the fucking hole lol
Are they going to tell you that secret too??
When Max offers anything to this site of substance and if you still want me- I will stop bye
But quite frankly I thought I deserved more support when the Col picked on me for no reason.
I am not going to let it go by again when it comes to a complete deuche bag who has been around for about 5 minutes just because you met in him person....
You get to like him and his upfront in your face style...
I am the ones whose face they always get into lol
I will take a pass and take my talents elsewhere lol
I am already in Miami area anyway lol they like us superstars here
:)
St. You have the same problem Leary has - selective chronology.
ReplyDeleteReread the series of posts and see who insulted who first.
Both of you are acting like spoiled bratty children who can't handle it when someone challenges your blind obedience to the Bug's Helter Skelter theory. You dont discuss or debate. You react with name calling and all sorts of cliche insults. Now you're insulting the entire blog membership by claiming you've been wasting your time thinking anyone here had any sense at all.
In short, you can't handle the truth.
Leary calls me an Internet bully. What a joke. Again, reread the posts and study the chronology. Who's bullying who?
Thanks to Matt, Patty, and Suze for using your "sense" and defending this big bad "bully."
Patty has had mean things said to/about her before. Its all in how you choose to react or not react. Peace.
ReplyDeleteNothing mean was said to them compared to what they said to me.
DeleteThey react by stomping their feet, saying "Fine! I'm leaving." And slamming the door because they can't have their way.
They want you to beg them to stay because they fancy themselves as being kings on the upper tier of intelligence and knowledge of the case.
Personally I hope they stay. It's extremely immature of them to worship their knee-jerk reaction to flee. If they had anything ORIGINAL to say they certainly would stick around and do so. From what I've seen so far, they don't.
When you've been personally attacked like Patty, Liz & I have by lesser spirits, things like this are de minimis.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone has a good night.
And again, big congratulations to Robert H. I hope to see your work see a great resurgence and be enjoyed by a whole new generation of students of history.
Matt...
ReplyDeleteI just gotta say I am stunned and speechless that you let someone as contemptible as this guy come on here and spew his crap. Saint and I have been coming here for several years now and for the most part gotten along with everyone. But this guy is just flat out to much.
I am not leaving this blog because I am a petulant child. I am leaving because I have no desire whatsoever to interact with such a rightous and sanctimonious schmuck.
I came back to see what the Saint had to say. There are other blogs. But still, I am surprised. You had done such a fine job the last year or so policing this site. I think the fact that you hung out with this guy has warped your perspective. He definately is the biggest asshole I have ever encountered on the internet. And that is saying allot.
Okay, done and done.
Listen to yourself Leary. You are the one who needs policing. The evidence is in the posts.
ReplyDelete"I think the fact that you hung out with this guy has warped your perspective. He definately is the biggest asshole I have ever encountered on the internet."
DeleteOf course. Because you certainly can tell more about a person online than you can hanging out with them for a couple days in person.
Is that what you're saying?
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteOn a lighter side, I bought Inside The Manson Gang. Got it in the mail last week. Awesome. I already had the Manson '73 on VHS that I bought at a going out of business sale at a video store back in the 80s. Mr Hendrickson, if you read this I just wanted to give two thumbs up and to tell you job well done. I recommend it.

ReplyDeleteWater skis.
Leary, the folks that believe in this Rosemary leaving scenario harp on this one line from the first homicide report which states that Frank jr. indicated it was uncharacteristic of Leno to park his car and boat in the street. And the theory was that Leno's car was moved so that Rosemary could leave in her car to make this trip to the safe. Well, the people who created this story should've kept reading because four sentences later the report reads:
He (Frank jr.) noticed his mother's 1955 Thunderbird parked by the garage and the water skis from the boat were lying on top of the fender. This indicated to him that his parents arrived home late Saturday night and had taken the skis out of the boat to lessen the risk of theft. They normally would put the boat away the following morning and this had not been done.
I looked through all the photographs taken that night and found one that showed a portion of Rosemary's car. And sure enough, on top of the hood near the fender laid water skis.
So what this means is, if you believe this bit about her making this late night errand, you have to believe that after returning, but before getting murdered, Rosemary, Tex or somebody thought it important enough to place a couple pairs of water skis across the hood of her car.
Sorry, that's just too crazy for me. She went nowhere and Leno just happened to park in the street that night.
Are you sure the skis weren't the "something witchy" left that night?
DeleteJust kidding.
Nice job! Very good investigative detective work.
First Grump, now Saint and Leary. I'm not liking this trend.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Hendrickson. I still remember how mind blowing it was to watch Manson for the first time.
ReplyDelete"First Grump, now Saint and Leary. I'm not liking this trend."
ReplyDeleteThey'll be back.
Saint, Leary: Do either of you remember me singling one of you two out for blame when you fought with each other relentlessly on this board?
ReplyDeleteSeriously. Grow up, guys.
BTW Leary. Here's your change. Keep the tip.
ReplyDeleteMay I point out for the record, that GrumpfromParumph also declared his departure from this blog specifically because of something this Frost guy said.
ReplyDeleteThe problem isn't just that this guy is a jerk, the problem he is an anti-govt wingnut who is using the TLB forum to spew his Timothy McVie like views.
The Saint has returned, which is his M.O., but I am definately joining the Grump.
St. Circumstance said...
ReplyDeleteBut quite frankly I thought I deserved more support when the Col picked on me for no reason.
No, Saint. You kept sticking your hand in a fan over and over again expecting a different result each time. I tried to lighten it up with humor, to no avail.
May I point out for the record, the Grump hasn't gone anywhere. He is a good friend and we continue to communicate with him regularly.
ReplyDeleteHe was offended by Max's take on trust of government, which just happened to have been expressed over Memorial day and Grump is a lifelong military guy.
We are grown-ups and we are working it out.
Now if you don't mind, I have a living to earn.
ReplyDeleteManson is probably the only footage of the girls working on Charlie's vest besides one other news footage short Ive seen-always my favorite part of the movie the girls embroidering,,,
ReplyDelete"Nice job! Very good investigative detective work."
ReplyDeleteThanks. I was actually looking for something else totally unrelated when I happened to stumble on that. But I thought it interesting enough.
candy and nuts said... Manson is probably the only footage of the girls working on Charlie's vest besides one other news footage short Ive seen-always my favorite part of the movie the girls embroidering,,,
ReplyDeleteI can't forget the black sruff under Brenda's finger nail. I guess she'd been working on dune buggies.
"The problem isn't just that this guy is a jerk, the problem he is an anti-govt wingnut who is using the TLB forum to spew his Timothy McVie like views."
ReplyDeleteYou gotta stop all the name calling and making things up Leary. You keep digging yourself deeper into a hole.
And who in the hell is Timothy McVie?
DeleteAny relation to Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac?
This has been one of the most entertaining threads on here in a while (although my add kicked in about half way) I must agree with St. All the way. As a lurker I check in daily and agree with about 2/3rds of the posts. I just watched both films again last night and feel they are unprecedented archives of the times. As for the money aspect I don't have a problem with someone trying to make some coin off of their experiences. We all paid for our copies so we all helped the fund in a way.
