As a serious researcher can someone please tell me where this $2million dollar Rosemary estate estimate comes from? Thank you. ( and Helter Skelter is not a resource)
ColScott raises a very good question. This is something I've never questioned, I thought it was unchallenged fact.
Anyone?

Friday, August 22nd, 1969 – An estate of about $2 million was left by a woman found slain with her husband under bizarre circumstances in their expensive home, court records showed Thursday in Los Angeles.
Police have theorized the slayer or slayers were imitating whoever murdered actress Sharon Tate and four others the day before.
Rosemary LaBianca, 38, was found stabbed to death in the hillside home she shared with her second husband. Leno LaBianca, 44, a supermarket chain owner.
Near the LaBianca’s bodies, police found scrawled in blood words including “pig” leading to the theory the slayers mimicked those of Miss Tate, hairdresser Jay Sebring, Polish movie writer Voityck Frokowsky, coffee heiress Abigail Folger and 18-year-old Steven Parent. On Miss Tate’s door was scrawled “Pig.”
The LaBiancas were slain on Aug. 10 – a day after the bodies of Miss Tate and the others were found in her Bel Air estate, five miles away.
Superior Court Judge Ben Koenig appointed Suzan Struthers, 21, Mrs. LaBianca’s daughter by a previous marriage, executor of the estate. An exact breakdown of Mrs. LaBianca’s estate was not revealed in open court.
Miss Struthers and her brother Frank, 15, are Mrs. LaBianca’s sole survivors, court records showed. The LaBiancas had no children.
Thanks, Cielo, what paper was that? LA Times?
Not sure of the top of my head. I can look it up when I get home tonight

In all my research I have been unable to confirm this "fact."

Cats has begun uploading probate documents. Start here
Cielo AWESOME JOB MAKING THIS BETTER
BIG THUMBS UP.OH DID YOU CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR WEBSITE ?
That’s some informative reading over at ‘Cats’ site Matt.
From what is published so far, there is a long, long way to go to reach that two million dollar mark. They even listed a $12 refund from a gas bill as an asset and how it was to be divided.
Yes, but there's much more to come. Cats is scanning as we speak...
The Article says The LaBiancas had no children.....Always thought Susan LaBerge was their Daughter....Am I wrong here ?? About the 2million on the Estate,....I do not know the USA standards, but here in Hollland if you Both run a Good Business then you can get Millions for a Mortgage and if played right you buy a Brand new car from that too....from the Bank ofcourse, but you get my point ?? Grtzz from Europe
Sorrie overlooked the Mentioning of SuzanStruthers.....that must be Suzan LaBerge then...question answered....my Bad, sorrie
I guess I use a low fidelity approach on these subjects.
The police report has Rosemary as a dress shop owner for less than two years. So two years to acquire two million, excluding taxes, overhead and living expenses would be $2739 per day in net income, 365 days a year. When compared to the photographs of her storefront, that makes for some suspension of disbelief to say the least. Perhaps the documents being scanned will illuminate something completely different. I will be surprised.
Didnt.the Daughter end up being friends with.Tex ?
rosemary and leno had no children together, but had children from previous marriages.
Rosemary had been speculating in commodities trading for a few years, and she plowed those hefty profits into the stock market. That is a way to get very rich very quickly or go broke the same way. You dont have to have alot of $ on the table when you trade commodities............ and the risks are huge but so are the rewards. I happen to believe this is the source of her wealth. However I have no idea how much was left in the estate of hers for her 2 kids and how Leno s debts and community property debts factored in, but taxes would have taken half and lawyers fees a chunk........just my 2 cents worth.
