Patty misses Jerry, too. Just recently found out that Matt, Mrs. Matt and Patty were all at his impromptu memorial in GG Park. This is LONG before we all knew one another.
Have a drink for Patty please, Matt. She turns 43 that day. And remember:
"I been gambling here abouts for ten good solid years If I told you all that went down it would burn off both your ears
It goes to show you don't ever know Watch each card you play and play it slow Wait until your deal come round Don't you let that deal go down"
Please forgive me for going off topic but I had ordered Shadows over Santa Susana after he aring so much about it. When my copy arrived what a dissapointment the copy i received was a mere 190 pages I was expecting 500 plus pages that's what Gorightly claims in his interview about the book. Still enjoyed it read it in 2 days. My question is have any of you read the big version of the book? Would you recomend it or suggest something else? I fully admit everyone on here is more informed then myself regarding MANSON. I've read Helter Skelter The Family 1st edition and the new book on Sharon Restless Souls. I'd appreciate anybody's feedback and suggested reads thank you -Bill
Oh seen Further last 11/12/11 in Atlantic City I have 300 plus Grateful Dead shows under my belt started going in 82. Plus have hundred plus tapes old heads remember tapers in the days B4 Dicks picks n free internet music you had to know heads who traded cassettes. Great website guys so interesting always awesome meeting good people with common interest's Peace out-Bill
Never really tied the two together forgive IM a little slower to catch one to many long strange trips perhaps. Whoever posted the MANSON-NEIL connection very enjoyable. I mean 60's were definitely a different time but I'll never understand some of the celeb's who knew MANSON and actually thought at one time hey this dudes alright???
bill, my copy of Shadow is well over 500 pages. i wonder what it is that you recieved? id guess a lot of the conspiracy theories are edited out? i find them interesting but dont really believe them in this case. you're so lucky youve only read HS and the Family cause the great news is that youve got so much great reading ahead. The people on these boards and blogs will all have their own opinions on what counts as MUST READ material. In my opinion though the next 3 you should read would be the three by former family members. Susans book, Tex's book(s), and Pauls book. 2 out of three were available for free or really cheap forever. i dont know if they still are or not. Watkins book is a really hard one to come by but it is reprinted on another blog (i dont know if were allowed to mention other blogs and sites here.)Theres other books id think you need to read but the three i mentioned are must reads. Also, again im not sure if we're allowed to mention other sites here but theres at least another blog, a website, and a message forum you should read too.,these blogs and sites are really better then any book out there. Typo's and all, andy
Thanx Andy I know which books you speak of being an east coaster even worse Atlantic City. N.J. Area not many head shops or alternative book stores I've just grabbed anything MANSON related i could get ahold of My best is original life Magazine n 1st edition of the Family gifts from my awesome girlfriend although she dosent share my fascination. My sister read me Helter Skelter when i Was a young kid scared the shit outa me child of the 70's what's a cell phone remember the part of Tex cutting telephone line really frightened me as a 10 yr old. Then Steve Railsback nailed the part in the mini series. Who remembers growing up 70s 80s they played Helter Skelter o. TV. Every yr. Never understood people knocking the bugs book didn't all of us cut are teeth on that book? . Love this website Patty you rule.
Thanx Matt he seems to dislike everything I've read on the case wonder where he gets his info. Fully admit I'm a novice compared to everyone here good selection available online. Books and such Need more suggestions of what to choose. I want the full version on Shadow but alota people strongly dislike it Col. Flat out hates it.
I heard a radio spot for a Further show coming up at Coney Island. The drug references were fast and furious. There isn't even a pretense of not partaking. I don't know if you can google a radio ad but I think I'll try...
Could be the biggest sting in history. Lol. I saw Further at Bethel Woods last July too. The drugs were pretty high-profile. What was amusing though was one guy who was selling "nugs & trips" was also selling icy cold mojitos. They've classed-up parking lot drug sales in recent decades.
since we're allowed to mention other blogs heres some advice to William. you want good info/reading? Read the Col's blog from the beginning, he also reprints paul watkins book. youll get more interesting reading on that blog then any book on the case. you also need to go to the beginning of this site and also go to charliemanson.com between them you will know all the info there is to know thats public up to this point. Theres also another blog and a forum but i think liz (hi liz) doesnt get along with the webmasters/moderators/bloggers so i wont mention them by name. youll figure it out by reading the stuff i mentioned. PS all this talk about Further is making me want to kill myself. Even when i liked the Dead, the thought of a set of bobby songs would be nothing short of a bad trip. The community that made the dead scene so special died long ago. When i last saw them (i did most of summer tour 90, Brents last shows) even the dead themselves couldnt control the gate crashers, fighting, drunks and people selling bad drugs. Thier greed also didnt stop them from going back to the Meadowlands even after security was formally charged with killing a deadhead. ive said it before and ill say it again.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2ywt_22J1w
Eviliz why do's it seen most people on here make you feel like you just stepped into a private club. Idk. Andy really appreciate the feedback definitely gonna run with your suggestions. Mat N.Patty thanx for making me feel a little less uneasy. We all share same interest it seems in everything. Peace.
Andy I attented those Meadowland.shows the security known as the yellow jackets.bad scene indeed man.I was only 17 then wow that's a bad.memory I had locked away for yrs seen the Dead 83-95 when we lost the fat man it was the end of my tour days. GOING to Bali in November 2wks of surfing need suggested reading material thanx bud.

Just saw them for two nights at Suwanne Fest in April- they really sound great!!
Wish I could get up there
Have a blast!
I'm again jealous of you both at the same time. How strange.
Of course, I miss Jerry but gratefully, Bobby and Phil and the boys are keeping something going for us.
Wonder if Clem will hook up somewhere down the road incognito ? LOL ! He does know Bobby Weir.

Let's see, Bill. A Deadhead with a Manson fascination. Nope, never heard of those. Lol...
Starship, if you're listening I'm up for a Squeaky visit...

Imagining a conversation between Charlie and Jerry always makes me chuckle.
Jerry would call security...

Sorry guys another question by the newbie is this website linked to Official Tate-Liabianca site? See alot of familiar faces
Bill, many readers of this site also regularly read the Col.
Thanx Matt he seems to dislike everything I've read on the case wonder where he gets his info. Fully admit I'm a novice compared to everyone here good selection available online. Col is a, uh, highly opinionated person. He is however one of the most knowledgeable. If you have thick skin you can learn an awful lot from him.
Hey, Matt,
I know some people who just saw Further at Canandaigua last weekend when, incidentally, I passed by pretty closely to Bethel Woods.
As for the 15th, I have obligations at the Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds show at CMAC in Canandaigua so I shall be busy there all weekend.
But I did look for Squeaky recently....no luck.
I heard a radio spot for a Further show coming up at Coney Island. The drug references were fast and furious. There isn't even a pretense of not partaking. I don't know if you can google a radio ad but I think I'll try...
