Raison d'etre

  1. I am on both sides of this issue. I think some "Family" members deserve privacy because of their minimal involvement in the group. I personally believe Tex is responsible for a pile of bodies aside from the ones he was convicted of doing. I think other people within the Family knew about them, helped, or aided in some way. However, I also feel that some other people in the group who were not as trusted were shielded from these activities and those people want privacy and deserve it.Just because someone associated with the "killers," doesn't mean they are responsible and it doesn't mean they should be outed, so to speak.

  2. In short, I don't believe in guilty by association.

  3. Guilt by association? Those people left a trail of bodies in their wake, even after Tex, and Charlie were in the cooler. They lost the right to privacy AFTER they decided to publicly cheerlead for their murderer friends. Why, take for instance Brenda McCann's statement: "We are what you made us— so, what's the big deal? Five or six people get killed and you all freak out and put it on us." What is that telling you? These people did not respect, or value human life, so in this Texan's opinion: F*CK THEIR PRIVACY!

  4. In this country you are supposed to be innocent until PROVEN guilty. Reckless speculation, rumors, and outright non-sense are not proof of anything.

If anyone has any evidence of crimes that will stand up in a court of law, they need to make it known to law enforcement, if not, I for one am not particularly interested in gossip, theories, or "vibes".

  5. There ARE unsolved murders and disappearances that are connected somehow. We keep looking for details and playing out different scenarioes that might cumulatively mean something to someone. There are people out there who still care about their loved ones who disappeared. Yes, this case is colder than cold, but it wouldnt be unheard of to still get a toehold 43 years later. Whats on the tapes? Why did they really stop the dig? Will there be any deathbed confessions? What are people like Bryan Lukashevsky waiting for to talk? It ain't over till the fat lady sings, and Patty ain't singing yet, so keep digging, y'all!

  6. This, and all other "Manson-related" blogs are ALL gossip, theories, AND vibes. That is what makes the blog (and others) so interesting to participate in.

  8. Dead on, Miss Patty. There are an abundance of reasons to believe the Family killed many other folks besides the TLB victims and Gary and Shorty. And talking/analyzing or speculating about those reasons and evidence IS NOT gossip. It is the exchange of ideas and theories. Folk have been doing it for a century with Lizzie Borden, for half a century with JFK, and since time began with countless others.
A death bed confession??? Yeah, you gotta wonder if someone like Ella Jo or Stephanie or even Mary or Ruth Ann would want to leave this existence with a clean slate.
Think of how exhausting it must be for Tex to put forth that pious Christian persona all the while knowing he has multiple hidden "sins".
Despite the 'user friendly' trend in modern Christianity, Christ's teachings are pretty clear forgiveness and absolution of sin does not come without repentance. So someone purporting to be a dedicated Christian, as Tex and Sadie and others have done, while all the time knowing they have screaming skeletons in the closet, has to be a tiresome con.
Come on Ella Jo, I have my betting money on you.

  9. maybe we need to look at the converse of the idea there were no more murders, that is why would there not be more murders. these people liked to kill and one would think there would be more dead bodies at least after hinman/tate/
labianca/shea. i hear murdering get into ones blood after the first time. i believe there are dead bodies in death valley at least, why wouldn't they kill people in the way, witnesses, people who didn't fit in, etc. they had nothing to lose.
