Patty wishes we'd had these for reference while standing there looking at a vacant field full of rattlesnakes. You can be assured they'll all be printed out ahead of time for the 2013 tour...

I'm using a xoom tablet. I think it's got a Droid interface. The back button must look like an enter key that I've used in the past because I often get them confused.
Patty just looked up the word "duplicitous" from her last post. She meant to say she duplicated the same comment over and over but she ended up calling herself two-faced. D'oh!
Excerpts from Charles Watson's pre-trial psychiatric evaluation:
"But once back at Spahn Ranch he used acid and speed very heavily and also began using belladonna, a weed which grows wild on Spahn Ranch. Mr. Watson's first experience with belladonna occurred in Mar. 1969, when he chewed the boiled root and began having severe psychotic symptoms. "I began talking to "space people" in "space language. He illustrated the "beep beep" of the "space people" in his belladonna hallucinations, the mmmm of his machine like thinking, and the strange "happiness noises".
Every night Manson brought his family together for preparatory rehearsals. Under the influence of drugs, the family "killed" imaginary people.--Ira Frank MD
Hendrickson called Spahn "the garden of evil", I can see why.
Belladonna is not a very pleasant drug(not from experience, but from what I've read) and you mix that with speed and high doses of acid, and I still can't imagine Tex being able to navigate the driveway to Cielo Drive, much less shimmy up a telephone pole and cut the wire and do all that butchering.
I was a little confused about the relation of Belladonna to what I know as the Nightshade plant. If Nightshade and Deadly Nightshade are the same, then according to Wikipedia, they're both common names for the plant also commonly known as Devil's Berries and Death Cherries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atropa_belladonna I was given a dose of Belladonna as a child. That might explain a few things...
Patty, I tried to research this and wasn't satisfied with what I read so, I tried searching for photos of plants with the respective names. At first it seemed that the plants had flowers of different colors. The third search showed flowers of both colors. I wouldn't eat either because, even if different, they might both bring on an agonizing death.
Unfortunately I can't figure out how to make the following URL's clickable.
Here are the photos I got when I Googled Deadly Nightshade,
Belladona, also known as talache, hell's bells, devil's root. I've never done it. There was a time when I was interested, but thank goodness I didn't. If you want to read people's experiences with it, go here... http://www.erowid.org/experiences/subs/exp_Belladonna.shtml One war story after another. Ending up at the hospital is a common theme.
