Maxwell S. Keith, the defense attorney for two members of the Manson family who went to prison for their roles in the grisly 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders, died Tuesday of natural causes in the San Luis Obispo County town of Templeton, Calif., his family said. He was 87.

I have often wondered if Max was Charlie's lawyer, and Charlie kept his mouth closed and did what he was told, that the outcome of the trial might have been different.
I was puzzled that Mr. Keith was engaged to defend another family member after Leslie got the death penalty. Then I realized that the other member was Tex. I wonder whether Johnny Cochran and Clarence Darrow together could have gotten him off.
I don't think Elizabeth Montgomery's character (Samantha Stevens) in Bewitched could have changed Tex's fate.

Clarence Darrow???...please, that crooked cunt?, who paid off hookers and did who knows what else to persecute Luciano...hardly worthy to be mentioned alongside the likes of Cochran/Shapiro/Bailey
I've always wondered, if the crimes were committed today and Charlie allowed someone like Cochran to represent him, if he'd have gone to prison. I doubt it.
