Q&A

Also from the February 24th post titled "Babies" Candy and Nuts said.....

"I think the first Life magazine cover/article with Charlie on the cover has a picture of Mary Brunner holding baby Pooh Bear-I don't have it here to post-trying to find it."

The Grump from Pahrump has provided it for us. He also included this picture of Sexy Sadie from the same Life issue.

  1. These are great pics, thanx to who ever sent them. I'm just learning to use this site, I apologize for errors.

  2. Thanx for that, I'm not as knowledgeable as most people on this blog and I have no "inside" info. I've recently read Watson's book, I downloaded the 1972 Hendrickson documentary with a torrent, and I've looked at the pics and stories on many of the sites.

  3. That is my all time favorite photo of Susan Atkins.

We tend to remember people and discuss them for what they are known for.

A few minutes of a life doesn't always define who a person was.

Sunset appears to be a West Virginia fan....

  4. She was troubled. She was dangerous. She was alot of fun. She was Susie......and we still talk about her today!

  8. PS in the photo of Sadie, the caption incorrectly reads Endocino, CA. It should read Mendocino, CA.

  9. Endocino, endometriosis, whatever...
Whenever I look at this photo of Ms. Atkins, I wonder if it was taken when she was pregnant. She looks "a little pregnant," if that's possible. She does look very happy.

  10. I sort of would want to remember Susan Atkins this way, in a moment of youthful euphoria...

Which we all had before we grew older and began to play the game..

The conservative Susan trying to tell the parole board what they wanted to hear, while I understand all of that, is not the way I like to remember her.

But that's my shit. Maybe you all see it differently.

  11. You read the new Sharon Tate book, and you'll never look at Susan Atkins in a photo the same way. What those people did is unreal. How anyone could even stand looking at a photo of SA is beyond me. I get chills when I see photos of her smiling, having a good time, dancing & having a baby. Just sick..

  12. I just seen a pic of Atkins I'd never seen before. She is singing in a church choir!! It's probably posted on this blog somewhere already though.

  13. The picture of Pooh Bear looks a lot like his mother when she sporting the Sinead O'Connor doo.
