the guy was hilarious in a couple of Two and a Half Men episodes as Herb. i'd still put "what kind of life has Mary had" on the top of my list of curiousities re Manson story. She and Ella Jo were not the 'babes' of the Family but have always held the most interest for me since they seemed the most intelligent.
Intelligent? I guess some of the girls were, but drugs or the times would give them a pass, if they deserved one. I don't care if they didn't get enough of mommy's tit, or enough of "being cared for". Plenty of people made do in life.
A lot of these lost souls were really throw-away kids, that no one cared if they were gone. The Cappi's and Nancy's were spoiled princesses that had a social rung wrong.
Received my copy of These Canyons Are Full of Ghosts today and it has some info on Cappy's background. Her grandfather Billy was a successful miner and school teacher who was killed in an mining explosion. He and Cappy were very close and she was devastated by his death. Her parents were having a rough go at the time of his death and Cappy ran away to Haight-Ashbury at age 14. The author met her at Barker ranch during the 68 stay and described as being a tall and beautiful 17 year old.
Mary Brunner has a total hillbilly chin. She was extremely NOT-attractive. BTW, just to ask, does anyone know if there was a shower, or bath tub at Spahn Ranch? If so, did any of those women ever use it?
Holy crap!!!! LMAO!!!

A bit off topic, but did Ken retire?

That's interesting. Other than having been a Buffalo Springfield groupie I have not seen anything about Cappy's previous life.
ReplyDeleteMary almost looks like Ian Monfort. she is just missing that big Vendetta tat across her jugular
ReplyDeleteMaggie,
ReplyDeleteIf you've got a good source on Cappy's and Brendas previous lives, please give it to us. I'd like to know more about them.
Let's start a Manson Family "Separated at birth" thread, shall we?
ReplyDelete@cielo - yes he did and it was a few of weeks ago and he's done.
