An "extremely" reliable source tells us that she is still upset she was not chosen to go out on the murders. She said she supports her brothers and sisters in prison. She makes a very passionate argument that the murders were the right thing to do for those times.
Signs her name "Silver". We don't know if that is an "Order of the Rainbow" name or not.
Another source who communicates with her says, "Cathy doesn't put down anyone or say mean things about anyone. She is a very pleasant person. Sure she'll tell funny stories about folks but will not make mean comments".

Still daffy after all these years.
ReplyDeleteOn second thought,if they'd taken her on that mission maybe they'd have had another flat tire, like on the one to kill her grandma, and five people would still be alive.
ReplyDeleteIf she is still supporting her brothers & sisters in prison, I'm surprised she doesn't grant interviews.
ReplyDeleteWhat is an extremely reliable person? Where did they get their "extremely reliable" information? Firsthand? Secondhand? Did they make it up? I am not calling the source a fibber, I would just like to know what "reliable" means. Did Cathy tell you this herself? That's the only way that I would believe it. Even if she believes it, I am sure it is not something she would be telling everyone. Especially, someone who is not enough of a friend to keep it to themselves.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fair question, Scab.
ReplyDeleteWe cannot repeat the source, but if we weren't absolutely convinced of the reliability and the integrity of that person we would not put it on the blog. That much I can promise.
That is very interesting. If she still supports the family, then I agree with lolo, she should grants some interviews and answer some questions
ReplyDeleteWow. I can't believe what I just read. Upset that she wasn't chosen, huh?
ReplyDeleteOn the one hand I want to hurl. On the other hand you have to admire dedication like that. LOL. There's true to your convictions and there's TRUE TO YOUR CONVICTIONS!
I concur. That's an interview I'd pay to watch.
Breaks my heart. How can a loving grandmother - she obviously has great repationship with her kids etc - think it was allright and cool to butcher a nine-month pregnant woman? Or anyone for that mat.
ReplyDeleteI get loyalty et all, but if Cathy really thinks the TLB murders were "justified" then she is as fried as Red and Blue.
and who exactly is she being loyal to? Manson has absurdly continued to proclaim his "univolvement". Pat and Leslie have renounced everything Family. As has Tex I think. So exactly who or what is she being loyal to?
ReplyDeleteYes! This is exactly what I come here for. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteBTW I like the new layout without the distracting background images.

I agree with hippiekiller. Before the new layout, I used to have to highlight most of the print just to be able to read it. Now it's crystal clear.

Leary, you touch on exactly what makes this subject matter so fascinating to me. The range in what makes people tick can be so wide that is mind boggling.
Every photo we've found of Cappy shows her surrounded by family, children & babies. She's by all accounts happy & fulfilled. Yet she sincerely believes that the events of 1969 were justified.
There aren't two sides to every story, there are scores of sides like a faceted crystal ball. This story is Faustian.
The murders were justified for the times? Never.
ReplyDeleteThe murders were understandable/ inevitable for the times? Absolutely.
I hope those grandkids Cappy loves so much don't decide to kill "their" grandma.
ReplyDeleteSounds like she would fit in perfectly with the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters.
ReplyDeleteI have seen this also she is called Silver-maybe from order of the rainbow-red lyn sandy blue brenda gold cappy silver pat yellow leslie green sadie violet -and how could she not be somewhat loyal still? she lived with all these people intimately for years shaved her head sewed on temple and broadway hard to leave something in your mind that you spend so much of your life and devotion too
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone should butcher this stupid bitch. She doesn't even have the excuse of being young, impressionable and stoned out of her mind to hide behind anymore and she still believes in this shit.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all you didn't know her before or after Charlie so u have no right to judge. I am from Trina, .ca. sure Meyer's and Barker Ranches are. My mom was friends with Cappy, went to school with her. She was extremely intelligent, an honor roll student (as were most of them) and a good kid. Charlie fed her acid and brainwashed her like he did the others. Cappy was a beautiful, loving, cheerful, and big hearted women. I feel sorry for those poor kids. What Manson did to them was not right, down right evil, he's the monster not them. R.I.P Cappy u will be missed love u!
DeleteAnd now, for a word from our lawyers:
ReplyDelete"The opinions expressed by posters on eviliz.com should not be construed as the opinions of the admins at eviliz.com, who would never condone butchering or other illicit violence towards anyone. Wet willies and wedgies are, of course, excepted."
yup, dead on Matt. The TLB saga is one of the greatest examples in American history of human duality, which, of course, we all possess and are often fascinated by.
ReplyDeleteIt is easy, as most do, to dismiss the Family as vile monsters. But then I think of Quanah Parker, who is revered as a Native American icon, and realize he butchered as savagely as what took place in TLB. I suppose it is the old adage about understanding context. I loved Patty's line about 'understandable/inevitable' as opposed to 'justified'.
Maybe Cappy just needs a speechwriter.
yeah, a Manson blog is probably not the best place to advocate butchering there Adam.
ReplyDeleteThen again, not sure there is any place for such musings.
True to your convictions even if those convictions make you unpopular.
ReplyDeleteOr conform to popular opinion and be a phony all your life.
What a choice!
Exactly!
ReplyDeleteIf she is so loyal why didn't she come forward during the trial and say "It wasn't Charlie, it was me"? And what has stopped her from going out and chopping up people on her own? Sounds like a load to me.
ReplyDeleteyeah found you guys again. i remember reading that a writer was shocked by the duality of the Family-the love these people felt for each other, especially the women and then the murders. remember pat krenwinkel wanted to be a nun before meeting manson.
ReplyDeletePatty, when I gave my younger brother wedgies I wasn't satisfied until I wrapped it over his head!
ReplyDeleteCappy is the strangest one of the bunch. Nancy Pitman was clearly deranged. Blue even more so. Kitty seemed like she was going along as a blind follower.
ReplyDeleteBut Cappy at 18-19 came across as an attractive, intelligent, perfectly normal girl. She could have been a model. Plus she sang nicely. No idea what she found appealing about CM and his circus act.
I always thought that it was possibly easier for her to spew such brazen statements and put on a fiercely loyal face because she hadn't "gotten her hands dirty", so to speak. Maybe all the comments about wanting to go along on the nights of the murders are just part of an act to appear tough. I find it hard to believe that a flat tire put a wrench in their plans for one murder.
ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Thomas. I have chatted with Catherine Gillies many times on Facebook and emails! I always send her photos of her from her Manson years and she always loves them! She is very thankful and ask's me to send her some more when I get them. I believe she is a very nice caring woman...Love You Cappy!
ReplyDeleteCappy was and still is a very loving soul, she has a beautiful heart. She was loyal to her girls just as she is her family now. Most people aren’t even loyal to blood this should give some insite on loyalty to others. She is one of the sweetest women ever. Love you Cappy Haters will hate. And for you all trying to put down red, blue and the rest well they are beautiful souls and care very much about Charlie and the earth. We love and Support you Cappy, Blue and Red.
DeleteHi Glenn, thank you for the message. Honestly, if you send Catherine a friend request, she is not going to accept it. She only takes friend request from someone she already knows. I would not write her or send her Photos, she does not want to be bothered if she does not already know who you are.....Thomas G.
ReplyDeleteshe is dead died in june.
