Folks, I've learned my lesson. It took a while. I read all of the recent posts here earlier. Very enjoyable. Checked the Col. SOSDD. Went to the looney bin. MonkeyBoy has gone so crazy that he makes Katie seem sane. Never again. I was a functional human being 15 minutes ago. Now I need my brain bleached.
As a musician and home recording enthusiast myself I've had questions about the "Family Jams" recording sessions but I haven't been able to find much information about them other than that they were supposedly recorded at Spahn's in 1970 for the "Manson" film.
Does anyone know anything about the production of the sessions or about the equipment used? Who the equipment belonged to? The tracks used for the original vinyl release featured stereo separation and the recording quality of the tracks, while not pristine is good for being recorded in an old movie ranch building so someone knew what they were doing production wise.
I know it's a long shot that anyone has any more information about these sessions but I've always been curious about them. I've misplaced my CD version of these songs but as I recall the liner notes didn't list much info as to the recording.

Wow, a true murder ballad.
