On my visits to explore Spahn's Ranch, I would pick up some of the little treasures I would find laying around. These would vary from saddle buckles to some coins and of course, nails. While I would walk around staring at the ground, I thought it would be cool if I found a bullet shell. I know, pretty slim chance.
Well....this is the .22 caliber shell casing I found where the buildings used to be.

Ever gone through with a metal detector?
I did some. Not sure what it's like now, but there were smaller things on the surface all over.
*jealous*
That 22 cal brass bullet casing blew up in a fire. That is why the casing is only partially remaining. There is no firing pin mark on the base. Most likely it was never even loaded into a gun but rather disentigrated in the 1971 fire that burned down the ranch. Ever seen a metal spray can blow up in a trash fire?
Pretty much my take on it MrP.
it's still pretty damn cool
