  2. A 5.8 is a kiddie ride over here. E. Coast freaked while over here it would be the topic of conversation at lunch break.

  3. it was tiny, but i had never felt an earthquake before so it was really freaky. it felt like the house was gonna collapse. It just lasted a second but still it freaked me out.

  4. For some weird reason Patty always seems to be in the shower or bathtub when they hit. Because of her track record, The Patties have long since given up on those sliding glass shower doors.

    **shudder!**

  6. did any of you hear the rumbling, they are usually loud? that's the part that usually freaks me out. i live in portland, oregon and they said expect one just like japan's in the next fifty years---we are overdue.

  7. I did not hear any rumbling with this quake, altough there was plenty of swaying going on the 10th floor of my office building in upstate New York. But I happened to be staying with friends in Washington, DC about a year ago when -- believe it or not -- a very minor quake occurred around 5:00 in the morning. It was DEFINITELY audible, and at first, I thought it was a construction truck rolling down the street. Woke my 2-year-old out of a sound sleep but my spouse slumbered on and missed the whole thing -- kind of like Eviliz.
