Movies Filmed At Spahn Movie Ranch

Quite A few soft core pornographic movies were filmed at Spahn Movie Ranch during 1969 besides Ramrodder.
Two of the movies Shorty Shea had bit parts in were,"Wanda the Sadistic Hypnotist" and "Hard On The Trail."  Below is some info on one of the movies shot there titled "The Female Bunch."

maybe carved on his forehead.  Click to enlarge
Shot on location at Spahn Ranch in the Summer of 1969, the infamous adopted home of the Manson family from 1968-1969, The Female Bunch was released the same month that California authorities raided the Ranch for Manson and his followers on suspicion of murder in October of 1969.

Plot: After a string of bad times with men, Sandy tries to kill herself. Co-waitress Libby saves her and takes her to meet some female friends of hers who live on a ranch in the desert.  The woman are completely independent of men.   Grace, the leader of the gang, puts Sandy through her initiation and they get on with the real job of running drugs across the Mexican border, hassling poor farmers, taking any man they please, and generally raising hell. Soon Sandy becomes unsure if this is the life for her, but it may be too late.

  2. Liz,
If you come across a list of westerns and TV episodes that were shot at Spahn, I sure would like to see it.

  3. I swear, isn't that Danny De Carlo at 0.45?It sure looks like it. And the guy next to him looks like someone on a set of thumbnail pics I got from another website which Liz said was always stealing ppl's pics and has now closed. The ppl on this pic, most I knew, they were supposed to be those at Spahn when the raid happened. Does anyone have it? the top row is all the usual suspects, but further down are many I don't know and I think one of them is in that shot at 0.45

  4. It's not Danny, but he resembles him.

That looks like it was one dumb movie. Target audience must have been teenage boys.

  8. Patty is back within range - good morning, evil ones.

The x on dude's forehead IS very interesting. Makes you wonder if anything Charlie did was original? Seems to Patty that much of what he preached he borrowed from someone else that he met along the way (the Barker Gang, Scientology, etc). I once read that this is a mark of very high intelligence - the ability to take pieces of what you have learned from others and synthesize it all into something impactful. David Bowie is said to be one of these people.

  9. In literature and cinema a mirror is sometimes used to symbolize schizophrenia. Notice the cross is shown reflecting in a broken piece of a mirror.

Charlie copied a lot of stuff from tv. The Family watched all the great tv shows of the 60s in the tv room by George Spahn's house. They lived in an imaginary world on a movie set.

  11. Oddly, this was Lon Chaney Jr.'s final film role. His health declined after filming, so he retired to work on a book. He died in 1973.

  16. It's hard for me to get into kiddie movies. I mean, isn't it based on a comic book or something? As an adult, I guess I have grown out of stuff like that. Probably when I was 12 years old.

  17. Patty I thought the third movie was the best of the three. It seems like it might make a billion dollars. Where is your co worker employed? A mental home no doubt.

  18. I'd rather have sharp objects repeatedly stabbed through my eyes than view anything Michael Bay touches.
