Villa Bella Correction?

Ken Writes: "The telephone pole isn't the one that was there. It's a newer type that was put in during the 70's. I'm including an image of the gates right after the murders. As seen here, the pole was on the other side of the entrance than where the one is today."

Hmmmmm.

I've heard numerous sources say the telephone pole is the only original thing left at the site....also the new house is owned by one of the producers of Full House...not sure why that's interesting.

Well, I thought this image would clear things up. I guess not. If one is driving up the driveway, the old pole that Tex climbed up was on the left side of the road. This can clearly be seen in this image or any other image from the period that the murders happened. Any images of the pole after the early to mid 70's show it on the right side of the road. The power company moved the pole when they changed it to the modern poles we have today. The gates were also moved out approximatly 30' to the pole line when the chainlink gate was replaced. There is nothing left there anymore that was there when the murders happened. I hope most of us are not relying on Wikipedia for our information.

Ken, whose cars are those in the driveway? Kinda looks like the little Jaguar on the left.

Is the other one the Camaro?

I think the black one is Sebring's Porche.

Mr P

[bumping this]

Why do you say that "Charlie had to support 24 people"? How do you come to this figure? And what period are you talking about?

Are you implying that there was a fixed number of people living at Spahn or Barker, rather than unpredictable numbers dropping in and out all the time?

How come YOU guys can see what cars are what in this image, but can't see where the telephone pole USED to be located:)

That's a neat piece of trivia about the telephone because I read just recently that the pole is still there. Over at Scott Michaels site FINDADEATH.COM he has a very funny video he just stuck up on the home page that is really funny because he reveals how phony and wrong some of the Hollywood tours are.

ken- I'm not disagreeing with you, I think your photo shows you are right. I just think it's funny how people think that's the telephone pole. :-)

Mr Poirot replies:

Tex didn't need to cut the phone lines anyhow because nobody tried to call the cops.

Why Garretson ever tried to call time service on a Saturday night seems odd. He didn't have to get up or be anywhere the next day and the cottage had multiple clocks.

Parent most likely saw the phone lines down on the ground as he walked to his car. Parhaps he even saw and heard the lines fall. He then backed into the fence with his car. I think he knew he was in trouble before he heard Tex shout. I think panic was why he backed into the fence.
