I was recently asked about the origin of this picture.
We assumed it's Tex and was taken at one of the ranches but don't know which one. What we find strange is it seems to be the only picture of Tex with the Family, pre-crimes.
Any info someone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Tex looks like he is well into drugs in that pic due to his goofy appearence. Perhaps that is a pic taken just before his Telache adventure? If I had to guess I'd say that pic is from sometime in 1969.
That is when he was on Telache at Spahn's Ranch. He's sitting on the front porch with George's house in the background.
contrast this photo with the prom photo down lower...WOW
I think these photos show how quickly drugs do take affect on someone. They quickly change who you are.
I really think that this guy is very worst of what we can be as humans..
Charles Manson is the scariest Man alive?? A white trash skinny redneck from the hills??? He was born to be trouble and everyone should have seen him coming- but he was small time in comparison..
Now- take a strong young man from a good family with strong support and lots of love. Positive role models all around- and a great life ahead of him. Imagine this guy strung out on speed, drooling in the mouth going through a window in the dark and stabbing people over and over and beating and kicking them while they are dying....putting a knife in the belly of a showing pregnant woman
Now that scares the hell out of me
I am smart enough to personally stay away from guys like Charlie..
Tex may have been the guy who sat next to me in English class.
yeah that is a scary description of Tex. I often wonder what would have happened had he been tried with the others. It would have been much harder to pin it all on Manson with Tex looking either strung out crazy or clean-cut teen, but either way, big strong and capable.
I remember seeing the picture being submitted into evidence during one Tex's parole hearings.
Not wanting the board to be deceived by Watson's clean cut appearance, Steven Kay held up the picture for all to see.
Then added for dramatic effect......"this is the last thing Sharon Tate and others saw before they were stabbed, shot and beaten to death".
For sure the difference between the drugged out monster in the photograph and the clean cut man before the parole board was grotesque.
This seems to be the same picture that appears on page 115 of, The Shadow Over Santa Suzanna. Maybe Mr. Gorightly can supply more information.
