I thought he had a parole hearing recently and got a 5 year denial- but then on another site- I saw him asking for letters and today I read this??
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California officials have rejected parole for a follower of cult leader Charles Manson for the 15th time.
The state's Board of Parole Hearings decided Monday that Robert Beausoleil (boh-so-LAY') can try again in five years.
Beausoleil, who is 63, was an aspiring musician and actor before he joined the Manson family.
He was arrested for the murder of musician Gary Hinman in August 1969.
He was in jail when other Manson followers killed actress Sharon Tate and four others, then murdered grocer Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary.
Beausoleil was convicted of Hinman's murder in 1970 and sentenced to death. The sentence was commuted to life when the California Supreme Court found the death penalty unconstitutional in 1972.
We can argue about worthiness on and on but none of them are ever getting out...
Bobby has a nice well written essay on his site called " Incarceration Nation"
He makes good arguments, and strong points...
But when you stab your friends to death, and make them beg for there life for days- then steal from them and leave them for the maggots...
People have a real hard time forgetting..
I hear many people say that he is a victim of the Manson Stigma- and he has paid his dues and has a loving wife and great plans, and he has been very productive with his time...
All of that is true- but still....

Goodbye Bummer Bob-
It is probably dawning on you about now that you are never going anywhere. You had some talent and chics dug you, and you probably could have had one big party well into your life had you played it right. But you crossed the line and now it is all wasted. Sad story but not nearly as sad as what happened to GARY!!!
Yeah but TLB did happen :) and two members of Charlies family went with him, and Charlie himself showed up in the middle of it...
So how much distance between them and himself is fair?
And he murdered someone and left them to rot- would it be any more fair if he did get out 30 years ago?
If he stabbed someone I was close to- I wouldn't care if he knew Charlie-or anyone else on Earth- I would want him locked up forever or dead himself...
Someday someone will have to make him understand this is what about what he did... and nothing els
If you kill someone you have to resign yourself to the fact that you may spend your life in jail for doing so..

Points well taken. But, if TLB had never happened he would have gotten out 30 years ago...
